I wouldn't sing to other people.

I always sing when there's no one around, I wouldn't want to make anyone go deaf. Well that answers three of the questions as for the other one I'll sing to pretty much anything I like.

I've actually tried recently. I find that when I'm alone I cannot project my voice at all. All I do is whisper, mutter or grunt at best.
In other words:
1) No
2) The few times I've managed to project, it sounded beyond horrible.
3) I kinda like singing Psychosocial by Slipknot...
4) I can't speak or do anything in front of an audience. I freeze up and feel faint when too many people are looking at me.

1. All the damn time. It is one of my favorite things to do.
2. Meh, not the best.
3. Anything with a really good singer is awesome. Ronnie James Dio, Bruce Dickinson, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Rob Halford, James Hetfield, Dave Mustaine, Freddi Mercury, Bon Scott/Brian Johnson, Robert Plant, Klaus Meine, all that good stuff. Power metal, symphonic metal, hair metal, and classic heavy metal are also all great to sing too.
4. Probably. I would be booed off-stage in a hot minute, but I would try. XD

I was literally just singing "To Be Loved" by Papa Roach with my brother. I do it all the damn time. Not just by myself, I did it in a room full of friends yesterday, because something someone said was the title of a song and I got excited.

I don't really sing anything in particular, just what ever comes to mind. Id love to sing in front of an audience, but there is no Kareoke places where I live.

Do any other escapist users sing when no one's around to hear them?
Heck yes. I sometimes sing regardless of whether people are around or not.

How do you think you sound?
Not half bad. I've been in several choirs before (and even led one), and if you don't mind occasional octave changes, I can sing anything well enough.

What's your favorite song/group to sing to?
Portishead, it doesn't take much effort except in a few bursts.

I especially love "Half Day Closing" (although it just gets hilarious when I try to sing that ending) and "All Mine".

That I can hard-ly waaait to hoooold yooooou... enfollld yooooooouuuu... never enough, render your heaaaart to meeeeeeee...

AAAALLL MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIHIIIIHIIIIIHIIIHII-I-IIIIINE YOOOU HAVE TO BEEEEHEEHEEEEEEEE!

Would you actually be willing to sing in front of an audience?
I've totally done it before, in aforementioned choirs and a solo at a Christmas service (O Holy Night, the expressions were priceless when I hit the high note at the end), as well as singing part of the solo in "Baba Yetu" at a performance.

I sing along to any song I know the words to when I'm alone in my car. I would sing in the shower but as of yet I haven't had a room that isn't adjacent to another, so I always feel like the guy in the room next to mine can hear me and that is enough to shut me up.

Very rarely do I sing around other people, and if I do it's usually something silly, rather than a song I can really get in to. I also elect not to sing in groups, like at church or whatever. I'm pretty self-conscious about that sort of stuff.

I'm an okay singer. I'm able to perfectly match the pitch of any note I hear with my voice as long as it's within my range, unfortunately my range isn't that great. It's a bummer when trying to sing some of my favorite songs with high-pitched singers, because then I have to drop an octave or two and it just doesn't feel the same as belting out the lyrics note for note. It also sucks that I like AC/DC so much, because good lord I could not imitate Brian Johnson or Bon Scott to save my life.

The title should give you an indication of what this thread is about.

Do any other escapist users sing when no one's around to hear them?

What's your favorite song/group to sing to?
Would you actually be willing to sing in front of an audience? Not asking this one for any particular reason, just wondering if anyone's confident/shameless/drunk enough to actually do that.

Let's hear some of your musically inclined confessions.
Yeah, of course.
I have a pretty decent voice. Like with anything else, with enough practice, you can turn a horrible shriek into something pleasant to the eye.
I do beatboxing and sing at the same time so I used to perform in clubs for extra money. Got to get back to that at some point, it was a lot of fun.

All the time, sometimes when people are around.

How do you think you sound?
I'm a high Alto, but I need to improve my ability to hold a long note and my falsetto.

What's your favorite song/group to sing to?
I'm using the song "Time" by "Cute is What We Am For" to practice.

Would you actually be willing to sing in front of an audience?
Maybe an easy song I know really well. Linkin Park: Leave Out All the Rest or Goo Goo Dolls: Iris

Yeah I love to sing along to stuff, I doubt I sound at all good but it's just fun. I'd say my favourites to sing to are Arctic Monkeys and Bloc Party with a smidge of the Strokes.

I'd never sing in front of people though, like I said, I sound awful.

Do any other escapist users sing when no one's around to hear them? Eeeyup.
How do you think you sound? Terrible. I hate my voice.
What's your favorite song/group to sing to? Eh, whoever. Used to be Robbie Williams, though.
Would you actually be willing to sing in front of an audience? Not asking this one for any particular reason, just wondering if anyone's confident/shameless/drunk enough to actually do that. I've done so for karaoke/Singstar/Rock Band purposes.

I sing all the time, on my own and when people are around. I'm told I'm actually quite good, but I tend to choose songs that are outside my range. Which I actually already knew, but find amusing. I wouldn't sing on a stage though. These days I sing the four chord song by Axis of Awesome a lot.

All the time. Whenever I'm alone I turn the music all the way up and sing.

How do you think you sound?
Dreadfully. But it's just some fun.

What's your favorite song/group to sing to?
I usually put Last.FM on from my Xbox and play through stuff I've favourited. Cole Porter, Andrew Sisters and Bob Crosby show up quite often in my repertoire though.

I can sing in front of people, I do if the music is loud enough that no one can hear me, like in the car or something. But otherwise, I wouldn't choose to.

Singing is what I do man, of course I sing to myself. People think it's weird when I don't lol.

Suspending all modesty for a moment, yeah I'm pretty damned good sometimes. There's not many people I've met who can match Robert Plant, Chris Cornell, Steven Tyler, Dave Grohl and Eddie Veder note for note over a 3 hour set...

I like singing all things, mostly Rock and Alternative. I'm trying to get into opera because then I can get a music bursary when I go to university hehe.

Sure, ive done countless shows over the last decade. The biggest audience I've been paid to play to was 2000 people. That's easy though, singing for 50 or so family members at my sister's wedding had somewhat more pressure haha.
