I love singing, it's pretty much the only thing I enjoy these days. xD The problem is I'm amazingly shy about singing in front of anyone, so I can only sing when I'm sure no one can hear me.

Lately that's been a problem, since both my roomates are home during the day, and I work at night... =[

I'm not a very good singer, specially with certain songs, but I still enjoy singing badly. =P

(And if anyone quotes me saying I'm a good singer, they're deluded or biased! D:)

I was opera trained. My voice is BIG.

...Unfortunately, while I'm in tune and everything, the sheer volume means people don't like me singing. Especially in confined spaces. Like the car when my fiance is driving...

I love singing, even though I suck at it. But hey, I do it when I'm alone, so I don't really care :)

My teachers always used to tell me that it's harder to sing softly than it is to sing loudly. And I have to say I think I agree. It takes a much greater amount of control to be able to sing softly. I've tried to work at it so that I can sing softly when needed. Ironically, my mom thinks that loud is all I should be doing, and constantly hounds me that I don't sing loud enough. I was classically trained, so I can belt out the notes when I need to, but I prefer to have some softer sounds in there.

I think I always sing along to songs, even if it's just a song i only know a few words to. obviously i don't sing when other people are around, it's not fair on them haha. :D

I sing, not necessarily well but if I know the words...
Funny, I usually prefer to sing when I don't know the words. I also like to record ideas on my phone while I'm driving which gets pretty weird sometimes.

Almost always. If I enjoy the words and the sounds why the heck not. Especially in the car on long drives. Keeps me awake.

I only sing if I'm horribly bored and by myself, it doesn't help that most of my music isn't exactly singing material since I can't understand most of it

Only when I'm alone, seeing how my singing voice can put people into a coma... xD

It's great fun though, as I usually ridicule myself while I'm singing. :p

Also this, but again, only when alone. Especially songs from the 80's and early 90's on the radio! I can sing my heart out to a lot of those! xD

I can sing certain songs, such as Dreams by Van Halen, or Girls Girls Girls by Motley Crue. But this is only good enough to pass at a party where everyone is drunk, I doubt I could do it for money.

This is the part where I'd like to say: dudes, get out more! Everybody likes to sing, whether they like it or not.

I know that is a contradiction, but singing is one of the basic human actions. Every culture does it, even animals, to a discussable degree. I've got a couple of friends who are tonedeaf and even they try to sing, even if it's just one height of note they can produce.

To answer your question: singing is one of my main reasons to exist. I've been a singer in a band and I always (try to) steal the show at karaoke. For you all who think they cannot sing there are only two rules to get better at singing:

1- Don't be afraid to be emberassed. As long as you are enthousiastic and enjoy your song, everyone will like your singing (refer to those pop-idol programs or the karaoke-scene in 'my best friends wedding')

2- Try to reach the actual height of the note. No explanation needed, I think

Nowadays just sometimes when I'm driving and on a good mood and hear an excellent song. In other words: Not often at all.

The only compliment I've had to my singing is when I'm drunkenly singing- 'Creep' by Radiohead whilst we were playing the original Rock Band. That song, whilst not my favourite Radiohead song, always grabs me emotionally and I just started belting my heart out on the vocals. Got nearly 100% and everyone in the room was like "D: Whoa, Tom. It's just a game." I was like "Oh. :("

I sing along to songs quite often when nobody's around... I'm not terribly confident about singing, so I'd rather not have people listen to me. Of course, this is something that I really, really need to work on, since I'm going to be singing in at least two concerts in the next few months.

I seem to do most of my music listening these days when I'm on public transport, so it's probably lucky that I'm not in the habit of singing along. I do sometimes when I'm at home, though only if it's The Smiths or Morrissey 'cos I can do a passable impression of his voice.
