about 70/30 multi/single, but even when I'm playing a single player game I'm in a party chat with friends of mine.

I play single player games mostly. The only MP games I play are TF2 and Counter Strike. I really don't enjoy multiplayer that much.

I play both but it's probably a 80-20 split towards single player. I'd play multiplayer more often if I found a few good friends into gaming in the same way I am but for now single player mostly.

I only play single player. I made one foray into uncharted 2's multiplayer and, with the exception of a finger-twitch that lobbed a grenade as I died, couldn't manage to defeat a single opponent.

Mostly single-player. The only multiplayer I do is (a ridiculous amount of) Team Fortress 2 and (a little bit of) Dungeon Defenders.

Percentages? Err...I dunno. According to Steam I have nearly 1,000 hours in TF2 and four hours in Dungeon Defenders. 80:20, maybe?

I play multiplayer mostly, I have very few games that are singleplayer only, off the top of my head I can only think of Skyrim and Fallout 3/NV. I endeavor to complete the singleplayer of any game before actually playing its multiplayer. (if it has any)

I mostly play single-player. I have phases where I play a few hours of TF2 a day but they usually end with me rage-quitting because all the really good people on the server are all on the same team.
i do get annoyed by this as well, they will usually use cheese strategies to either spawn camp or keep us from doing anything from moving out of one room, it gets really annoying (especially if they are cocky and proclaim how good they are)

as mentioned, i'll played tf2 for a few hours probably once or twice a week, otherwise it's single player all the way, i just prefer the stories and characters offered by my rpg's rather than playing with online people.

SP master race represent! Multiplayer just simply isn't fun. I don't see the point in the competition, and I sure as hell am not going to turn something I do to relax and blow shit up into work. I play games to unwind after working, not to do even more work.

If it doesn't have a good SP it doesn't earn my money. No exceptions.
says the guy with 144 hours clocked into tf2 ^_^

The other day I

- Joined a server
- Spawned
- Walked to the door
- Saw that the entire other team was outside and had two demo/medic pairs
- Walked back the the resupply cabinet
- Disconnected [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_FT4zwv30E]

Pretty much all single player. I play a little from time to time, but the majority seems to fall into the single player category.

It's hard to really say how much, I usually just find an interesting MP game and then binge on it till I'm all burned out and never want to see it again, meanwhile SP games are my constant companion.
Basically MP games are my cheap fling and SP is here to stay.

Is multiplayer still multiplayer if you play alone against bots, much like an 'instant action' mode?

Probably singleplayer for me. Replaying great singleplayer games is the real meat of my gaming, if arena games with bots doesn't count.

Depends on my mood, and the genre. 4X I tend to play either solo or me and my fiancée vs. CPU, shooters I play multi, racers it's a mix. MMO's I tend to go with PUGs or just go nuts on PvE with her.

I play local multiplayer occasionally, and I play online sometimes, too. However, around 95% of my gaming is done single player. I play games to relax, not to get frustrated at some jerk. I really only like playing multiplayer in games where I can cooperate with people.

!scramble is your friend in that situation... as are servers that use the plugin that enables it.

OT: On the whole, I'm primarily a multiplayer gamer, something like a 3:1 ratio. That's how it balances out over the years, though. What I'm actually playing at a given moment is more variable. Sometimes I'll go for a few months with my only gaming being a nightly regular on a specific server of a specific game. Other times it'll all be on some epic single player game. Still other times, it'll be some mix of the two, probably juggling three or more games at once. Heck, sometimes I'll go for weeks or months with very little gaming at all. I'm just coming out of a cycle of watching movies and reading books and comics in my free time instead of gaming. It's tough to balance everything when you have multiple hobbies.
