Having fallen in love with Trinity, I preordered Rebellion, and I got access to the Beta, which I'm downloading as we speak. Has anyone else played the Beta yet? What is your impression of it so far?
I haven't had any crashes yet. So far, I'm loving the gap that Corvettes fill. Having something that is extremely cost effective for the amount of damage a swarm of them can put out is a great way of stemming pirate raids until your big guns can respond.Aris Khandr said:It's crashtastic. But, you know, a beta. So we expect that. Still, have yet to finish a game because of it.
Sad to say that they tend to happen several hours in. Five+, from the three games we tried.Soviet Heavy said:I haven't had any crashes yet.
I've heard about the Loyalist TEC which has about four thousand novaliths per system... Sounds painful.KingofMadCows said:I haven't had any crashes while I was playing but I have had a few starting up and ending a game.
The higher difficulty AI is pretty broken. It spams super weapons like crazy. The Rebel Advent also has a bug where it only build capital ships.
As someone who plays Advent and gears his fleets to rely heavily on "fighter superiority" I love the corvettes. They're dirt cheap and cost half the supply that the standard Disciple frigate does, meaning that I can jump into a gravity well and immediately have a swarm of fighters and corvettes rushing to targets while everything else advances.Soviet Heavy said:I haven't had any crashes yet.
