I respond on my com to Zariel, "My men are holding off the enemy at checkpoint four, south of the palace. Be advised that the jedi are now being assisted by the royal guard who are reportedly armed with various types of blasters. Hold them off until-" suddenly a large explosion can be heard throughout the battle field, then a large building collapses. I put my com link on an open channel so you can all hear me. "What was that!?"

Corruptus smiles.

"No, Captain, I don't. Once again, you have my leave to do what feels right."

As he finishes his sentence, he lights a Jedi on fire.

Orn smiles his pointy toohted smile.

"You heard the Master, men. Set those charges."

As the unit progresses through the temple, they set detonation packs on the bases of all the supporting columns of the structure. They heard the explosion off in the distance and Orn smirked as he thought that won't compare to this explosion. He thinks eagerly of the detonator clipped to his belt, which he will use to destroy this building as soon as it is raided.

OCC: Actually, the exploding building in my post was supposed to be yours because I knew you were going to blow it up

"Understood."

Zariel didn't bother to speculate as to what the explosion was. This was an invasion after all, and explosions would be expected.

He abandoned his assault, heading instead towards the position specified. Upon approaching, he could see that the troopers were indeed having problems, with their defenses not likely to last longer then 20 minutes at best.

It was a shame his men had been killed, otherwise he could have launched a powerful attack on them immediately. As it was, he'd have to speak with Tereth's troops before attacking.

He moved his transmitter to his mouth, saying "Commander Tereth, this is Zariel again. I don't want to go to open channel as it will probably remove the element of surprise, so you'll have to patch me through to your troops."

Oh. Well, I'm still in here, so...
You can't go arbitrarily blowing up buildings when people are just posting asking permission to destroy it. When you posted that, I hadn't even given my leave to blow it up. Besides, Ergeron is still in there, too, if I'm not mistaken.

Oh, yeah, and, if you blow up my squad of my favorite troops, I'll set your intestines on fire, and burn you to death from the inside out. :}

Not only did you blow up a building arbitrarily, you skipped the entire final Jedi fight, since I was about to lead the two squads in a flanking manuever to kill the last line of Jedi Defenders. Instead, I now have to sit this round out.

Actually, I missed several rounds of fighting because of your skipping ahead...

I patch you through without responding because I'm thinking of a strategy. "Comander Zariel!" a trooper says. "we are being assaulted from the north and the east. We have them held off at the north with gatling guns but they are moving in on the east and we don't have the fire power to hold them." The trooper suddenly turns around and tells the others to focus fire on a tank that is coming towards them.

They actually use gatling guns and tanks in the Star Wars universe? Maybe I should re-watch some of the films...

Zariel didn't react for a moment. He thought the situation through, then spoke once more into the transmitter.

"Very well. I am currently positioned somewhere behind the north group. I will be moving to a more favorable position from which to create a diversion. At the moment you see any of their units try to block the shock coil bursts, I want you to concentrate your fire on that unit. Is that understood?"

Before the trooper answered, Zariel was already forcing his way into a house beside him. Waiting wouldn't help anyone in this situation.

when I said tank I was thinking about the green things they have on naboo with the turrets as seen in star wars battlefront, and episode 1.

I am ordering my troops to get in their defensive formations when I get the message I've been waiting for. "Commander, re-enforcements are now landing." Suddenly I see TIE fighters swoop into the hollo array and fire into an enemy formation. "Good job men," I tell my troops. "Stay together and let the ground forces find you."

Ergeron watched from a doorway how Orn's squad finished off a small group of jedi.
"Hold your fire" He said as he entered the room. The troops hold their fire, appearantly waiting for orders.
He glanced at the charges planted to a nearby pillar. "Captain.. I take it this building is going down?"

Ergeron is not really known of by the troops (and he is not identified as sith by his armor), only to corruptus and his closest. (including Orn, I'd say)
Also, I'm sorry if I messed something up for Orn now. If I did, just let me know.

Ahriman concentrated and used the force to seal the troopers gapping wounds. The Jedi were holding their distance, concentrating their blaster fire on the troops before they would come in for the kill against the Sith. Although Ahriman's talents were being put to use, it was clear that they were losing numbers fast. Voltius whirled amongst the men deflecting what he could and shielding the survivors but even he couldn't be everywhere.

Ahriman's grim appraisal of the situation was interrupted by the drone of engines before he saw a TIE fighter swoop down, strafing the enemy. Then another, and another. Whilst the the Jedi moved to counter this new threat a transport touched down, largely shielded from the enemy firepower by the wreckage of Volitus' ship. With a hiss, the ramp lowered and troops scurried out, seeking cover before returning fire.

Ahriman looked at the older sith. "Your command Lord Volitus?"

"Okay, here is what we are going to do. Four of you will fall backinto cover, then sweep around behind the Jedi, flanking them. While you are sneaking around, I will create four force phantoms that will keep the pressure on the Jedi that your absence would negate. When you are in position, I will give the order, and we will mow dwn the Jedi scum with little resistance. Does everyone understand?"

As a group of AT-STs move in on a squad of the royal guard Greg speaks up. "I don't think that was a good decision," he says. "That entire plan relied on getting back up from the sith. If they couldn't get to you or if the re-enforcements were held up then all of your troops would have been killed." "I realize that but what would You have had me do then?" I reply. "you should have split your men into smaller groups and spread then out among the ruble and have them surprise the enemy as the move in. Then when the enemy retreated to regroup you could have fired on them with snipers and heavy weapons. then while the enemy was stunned by the unexpected swing
you could have retreated your men to the drop zone." I look at him for a moment and the ends of his mouths twitch slightly as if he is holding back a smile. "You have learned well boy but you forget one very important factor. That might have worked if the guard wasn't assisted by jedi; but the jedi would have sensed the sneak attacks coming and my men would have been exterminated." The boy thinks for a second and then looks at me. "Your rite. I shouldn't have spoken against you." "You are very sharp boy; as god as me when I was your age. But don't get ahead of your self. You think you are ready to do what I do but you aren't. You are to young to understand the burden of leading a hundred men to their deaths because you will be executed if you refuse to. You haven't experienced the icy rush of killing a man and having his lifeblood spill onto you. You don't know what it is to think of all the death, loss, and misery that you cause and wounder why you are still alive." I put my hand on his shoulder and look into his eyes. "This isn't something to be proud of child." "Rez Tereth, the hero of the 743rd Legion has regrets...pathetic." "Go to your quarters and study boy. You are far to young to understand." Greg is walking down the hall and says to himself in a whispered tone, "Corruptus will be pleased to learn of this possible weakness." He enters his room and dose as he was told.

For each jedi that fell, two seemed to take his place. Malus was a torrent of blade and bare hands, blocking the hilt with his feet, arms, and even his head. His horns were tearing open forearms as he danced an act of precision and sheer luck. He could feel that he was over whelmed, but fought on with a clarity brought about by hate.

Then suddenly the jedi began to fall to a chorus of blood curdling gasps, as if they were tore in half by black void, Malus' master twisted into the fight. "You have learned well my apprentice" He said as they made short work of the overclassed jedi.

"All right, I'm in position." Zariel said into the transmitter. "In addition to the orders I gave previously, you are to push forward when the enemy lines start to lose their form."

[small]"Understood Commander."[/small] came the voice from the transmitter. Zariel slid it away, then walked over to the window. He had decided to attack from a building that directly overlooked the Jedi. There was no glass in the window, which should make things easier.

He leaned out, and unleashed a stream of lightening from his shock coil at a Jedi. The Jedi reacted and blocked it. Zariel had expected as much though, and the troopers stream of fire was not something that they could block at the same time.

That Jedi fell, and Zariel retreated back into the building. A group broke off from the rest of the line, evidently intending to trap Zariel. This is as effective a distraction as I can cause, Zariel thought. Will it be enough though?

That was up to the troopers. He turned, and prepared to face those that had come to stop him.

Just to clarify here, the guys with guns like in Star Wars Battlefront and episode 1 are here also aren't they? And if not them than the rebels have to be here. I doubt that there can really be an entire army of jedi here.

Ahriman nodded to Volitus and gestured to the soliders. They quickly fell in behind him.

"Hold your fire until we're in position," he ordered them, "We have to make sure this gets them when their guard is down."

The five men crept behind the shuttle, ducking between rubble to keep out of sight. They managed to get to the buildings that surrounded the Jedi soldiers and moved through them. It wasn't long before they were flanking the Jedi scum without them even knowing it. Ahriman turned to the soldiers.

"Head up to the second floor and fire when ready. I'll wait down here and deal with any who try and approach. Aim for the Jedi in your first volley, if they're not expecting it they'll have difficulty blocking it. Go."

The soldiers began to move up the stairs as Ahriman pulled up his dark robes and hid beside the doorway, lightsabre in hand. As the blaster fire rang out from above he heard men running towards the building. The first one entered, a mere grunt. Ahriman let him pass, and then another, and another. Then, as a Jedi came charging through, the Sith lashed out with his blade, slicing into his unaware opponent.

Ahriman smiled as he waded into battle. Without their leader the soldiers were little danger to him. He could only hope that the men above were acting their part well.
