The video game that puts people in the environment that soldiers had to face in the war will no longer be released due to people deeming it offensive and inappropriate because soldiers died and its a terrible thing to show the world. My question to you is: Are we living in a world were we are so PC that we can no longer show the world dramatic events in our lives because they don't want to feel sad or come to terms with reality? When Black Hawk Down first came out everyone thought it was a great movie, and it was based on real life.

I think the human race as a whole, especially Americans, are too afraid to face reality and anything that might takes them out of their comfort bubble for two seconds needs to be censored or gotten rid of. Not only that, but some people feel that they are in the position to try and protect others little comfort bubble as well. I think this game should be released, it's a form of entertainment and art. And hey if you don't want to see it then DON'T FUCKING BUY IT. Who the hell are you to say what is and isn't appropriate for others?

Ignorance is bliss I guess.

I feel a little bad for the developers. Shut down faster than a rap concert at a retirement home. Harsh.

Considering how fast Konami pulled out I hope so, it seems they did it that fast to prevent even more bad media, The way people reacted I doubt it will be touched for quite some time.
Perhaps they'll be able to release it on Steam instead if no one picks it up. Just a thought, mind. I wonder if part of the reason (despite the "war" being depicted being quite recent) is due to the fact that Iraq hasn't exactly gone down as one of the resounding successes of our times.

Funnily enough, as they said in an episode of Argumental that was on, they said "the war, which lasted 3 weeks, was a success. It's the 6 years of peace that followed that was a f***ing disaster".
lol, you got a point, but keep in mind, their have been games about WWI and no one was up in arms about those games...Mind you this war is far worse considering the death toll (i might be wrong bout that)but the fact that every damn company is caving in to peoples threats of suing or because they don't want the bad press is annoying, bad press gets more attention anyway...look at GTA, the more bad press that game got, the more people bought it.

Let's keep in mind that not all of us Americans are immature wanks who can't handle having the truth shoved up our noses. Just those people over there (*gestures to a crowd*). I blame many things for this.

You are my new best friend..lol, that is how i feel, I live in LA and everywhere i turn there some bull crap complaint about something that people don't want to face, everyone is supposed to be looking out for everyone when they do protest but it all boils down to person A didn't like what person B said or believes in so now they are going to scream and cry until they get their way.

-Maybe because actual Civilians were killed when they protested peacefully - Body Count 17

-Maybe because Civilians who protested the previous act of agression were again shot at - Body Count 2

-Maybe because a certain immoral merc contractors got their asses handed to them - Body Count 4

-Then the US Army decided to attack Fallujah - Body Count 1100+ Iraqis and 70+ Americans.

- It's a tragedy, not for the Iraqis defending their homes, but for Americans lost. Hypocrisy much. Same for black hawk down though, how many somalis died, but they were only numbers, only the US Soldiers were remembered.

- Not to mention the War in Iraq is itself controversial to begin with

- The game was supposed to be documentary about the invasion of Fallujah, instead the game was a cheap action game about the US Army/Marines involvement in the assault than anything else.

- You know what, get a developer to create a game based around putting the player in a Nazi boots: Raiding some unlucky Jewish family's home, bringing to death camps, torturing them etc ... Oh wait, every fucking person around the world would censor the game, no publisher would even dare touch that subject, even if the game claimed to be a documentary about the wrong done to the Jewish populace of Germany during WW2.

My Personal Opinions: The game would have been worth playing if it was a proper interactive documentary, not some cheap action game to serve as propaganda and an inaccurate depiction of the invasion both pre and post, of Fallujah.

Let's see how they handle 4 US Marines deciding to shoot at a crowd of 200 people and killing 17, because they thought they were insurgents.

Trigger happy jackasses.
