Well i know that I've skipped class when i shouldn't have but then again it was for good reason. My school only one computer science class at the time and it was a night class so i took it, but then i always had chemistry in the early morning (like 7 am). So sometimes I would just skip that class and come back the next time. However, I always did the homework and did well on the exams, I ended up never attending lecture unless it was a quiz or an exam. I did this for the last seven weeks :).

The only time I skip class is when I'm just too freaking tired to bring myself to go to school. It's been particularly hard this semester, as I've had to deal with the dreaded 8:30 class. *Shutters* - never again
8:30? God, I wish I had school that late.

I've skipped Italian a few times, along with a few other guys, usually the last lesson before vacation, 'cause by the time we have our next lesson, he'll have forgotten that we missed at all.

And some I kinda skipped...I just forgot about them. I simply went home without thinking about it. The teachers never said anything, I never said anything.

Very rarely. I skipped class for two days straight in college one year...of course that had something to do with the entire city being buried under about three and a half feet of snow and not getting plowed for a good while...and I really didn't feel like slogging my way through all that crap the mile and a half walk from my apartment to the campus.

Well, I'm not a morning person in anyway whatsoever, and I have this horrible habit of going to bed at around 2 or 3 am every night. Out of curiosity, when does your school start?

I'm in uni so my lectures aren't mandatory. I go to most of them though. Except for my 9 o'clock Soviet Union one but that's because we all go out on Monday night so I'm normally too hungover. Sometimes I don't go if I just can't be bothered though. I've learnt all I need for exams and essays so it's just needless time out of my day.

I used to skip class a lot in college though. My friends and I would go and sit in the park and get stoned (stereotypical or what?). Good times though... Good times...

All the time, for shits and because the subjectmatter bores me. I still get B's and A's in the classes so.

Never skipped something in high school unless you count the days when we don't "really" have class where we technically "should" have be there, but due to some event or whatnot 90% of teachers didn't take attendance.

University however, is a different story. Anything from test coming up, "just 5 more minutes....", to "oh thats the next lecture, no way I'm going to that" is fair game IMO. Definatly refreshing to be treated like an adult finnally and being able to manage my own education (oddly enough, despite starting to skip classes, and staying up later and whatnot, my marks actually went up after going to university).

Never done it before. My parents would tear out my heart Mortal Kombat style if I did.

When and why have any of you skipped class?

Edit: I skip class when I want to hang out with friends, mostly if I have Italien. I'm curently learning Italien, German and French. Italien doesn't count into my gpa, so basicly I have a class I can't fail.
Perhaps you should attend your English class more often, if only to learn how to spell "Italian".

...Or "currently"... Or "basically"...

...Anyways... Being in college I skip classes when I judge the investment involved in attending not worth the return I get from said class. Like when I don't think I'll learn anything from them. I do make an effort, but some classes are just redundant, so why waste time?

I skip quite a few lectures. I never go to Economics, since the professor posts the notes online. Plus, we're expected to know the stuff for Online homework due Sunday, and then she covers that same material in class the following week. She's also dreadfully boring.

I skipped a few other classes where notes are online. If notes aren't online, I don't skip. I only skipped two classes in High School. Once was Phys. Ed. and I got in shit when they called my house. I also skipped Spanish once to hang out with my girlfriend, but I asked the teacher to "work on my Extended Essay for IB". She actually went with me to the principal and I had to call my dad to give me permission. But it worked out fine and I got to go for lunch earlier... Haha.
