The trailer looks cool, but I probably won't see it. I always say I want to go see a movie and always end up not going, usually out of laziness or none of my friends want to see the movie.

But, I didn't enjoy the trailer, and I saw it as a very bland "Another Action Movie" kind of film from the outlook.

It's just a fucking classic. The aliens are vastly superior just because they are and the only humans surviving are the characters on film, until that point that they are put into danger, one dies, but everyone else makes it out, and yadi yada...

They've already did that. Remember War of the Worlds?

It's not often that you read some sense on youtube, but this commenter seemed to sum-up the movie nicely.

Aliens comes, infect and destory most of humanity (USA), U.S military comes in and gets owned, cities all over the world gets vaporized by alien plasma laser beam, adult males screaming like bitches, U.S military with their backs against the wall comes up with and successfully carries out a ingenious plan to destory the advanced alien/cyber species that traveled 2 billion light years to conquer earth. USA flags rises above the alien burning remains, aliens flee, movie ends.

It's just going to be predictable military pwnage (oh look, i wonder what's going to happen to that F-22?) right until the end when the plucky hero engineers a daring and ingenious plan to defeat the aliens. Pretty boring plot line really.

OT: It's Independence Day with better CGI and lacking Will Smith. It is nothing creative in either story, plot, or design by a longshot, though the design of the aliens is admittedly somewhat appealing.
