Set your auto save option to "every five minutes" you can't see that option until you scroll down, but it really comes in handy because then you don't have to save as often.

Also if you dump perks into one stat you can make it really over powered pretty quickly. So try to concentrate your perks instead of spreading them out.

When casting Spells at lower levels, only click, don't hold the cast button. This way you deal all the damage, and only spend a fraction of the Magicka; it works best with Fire based spells.

Werewolfism is awesome and has no downside beyond the once-per day use of the transformation.

You aren't totally indestructible though, mages can be a pain if you don't pay attention, but arrows and one-handed weapons tend to bounce of you. Watch out for two-handers though as they can still be pretty nasty.
Silver weapons will tear you a new one. The guild where you become a werewolf has a lot of quests against people who use silver weapons. So don't go into beast mode against them, because a silver great-sword could kill me in two or three hits at level 18.

However I now keep two silver swords on be at all times because they are SUPER effective against werewolves(pretty much the only way I have found to stand a chance against them), and undead in general. Dual wielding silver swords makes short work of droger, even the tough higher level ones.

Dual-Wielding Sparks is insanely overpowers and still a viable strategy for all but the strongest mobs even at level 34, because if you quickly tap the cast button, the amount of damage per mana point it does is outrageous.

Enchanting is broken once you get it high enough, god mode ensues.

If you're playing a mage, get your magicka regen high enough and you won't ever have to drink a magicka/health potion again(true story).

Different Destruction spells have special effects. Fire creates some after-burn damage and is very effective against Draugr, Frost drains enemies' stamina and slows them down, and Lightning drains Magicka.

The Frost Troll on the 7000 Steps is easy to defeat if you dual-wield Flames.

There are Word Walls out in the wilderness marked by dragon icons and guarded by dragons, so you can acquire a new Shout and power it up quickly.

Continue on the main quest until you reach the Greybeards at least- they give you two free Shouts and power them up, one of which is really useful for getting past traps in dungeons.

Most of the guild quests will eventually lead you to new Shouts.

And for the love of Talos, don't mess with giants. They will launch you into space if you trespass in their camps.

get the alteration spell to transmute iron ore into silver, and silver into gold.

Iron ore is everywhere and cheap as hell, but you can turn two of them into a gold bar which can be turned into two gold rings, which gives great smithing xp and a sizable profit.

"Werewolfism is awesome and has no downside beyond the once-per day use of the transformation. And of course being hunted down like the dog you are if you decide for some reason to transform in town. " Actually the once per day usage can be circumvented though Hircine's Ring from "Ill met by moonlight." It's still temporary and you have to equip all your stuff after you are done, which is a pain, but you can werewolf anytime. The more you know!

1: Get a Companion, companions can aggro mobs and take the brunt of the force from them while you hit them in the back, this is because companions have significantly larger health than you. Also, you can order them to attack a group of mobs while you sneak behind them or just snipe them with the bow and arrow.

2: Easy Money, make iron daggers in the forge - buy the materials from the blacksmith and then enchant them, the Damage Stamina enchantment will greatly increase the value of the daggers. Say you pay 268 gold for the materials to make 10 daggers - if you sell 10 enchanted daggers you make 2068 gold!!!

3: Loot Gold, you might think its pointless - but the money you loot from corpses eventually adds up to a significant amount. Say you kill 500 humans, and on average they drop 10 gold each - that's about 5,000 gold your missing out on.

4: Lockpicks, the thieves guild fence sells about 40 Lockpicks for about 400 gold altogether.

Anyhow, I just want to post a warning: It's a very slight spoiler, your choice.
When on the path to the Greybeard guys (On the mountain), WATCH OUT. There's a level 29 Ice Troll on the trail, and you can't avoid him. RUN. Even dual-wielding fire spells can't hurt the guy. Ugh.
That thing was level 29? I didn't even notice. I must have been level 10 or close to it. The thing just stood at the the edge of a slight ledge, flailing its arms and throwing rude comments at me, while Lydia and I picked at it with arrows for a while.
Pretty much this, but I was alone. When it finally charged me, I finished it off with a flame spell.

Agreed on 1, 2, and 3. Regarding lockpicks by the time I reached a secret expert-level chest at about level 12 I had about 80 lockpicks from just looting bandit bodies and such. And I got a nice skill boost with each failed attempt. I've never bought any lockpicks.

Odd -- I took him out with dual-wielded fire spells. I had pretty high destruction for a low-level character, though.

Ah. Well, I was a sneaky thief/warrior hybrid, so my magic skill sucked horribly. On my pure mage I can waste anything with twin firebolts, so...I see your point there. The problem with the troll is that it's a scripted event, so I wasn't able to sneak up on it and plunge a dagger in it's back. I was level 4 if that helps, two points in sneak, one in one-hand.
