I realize that Skyrim has only been out for a few days, but I was hoping someone who has made an Argonian a Vampire could answer this question for me. I'm trying to decide whether to make my Argonian character a Vampire or a Werewolf, though I would be both if the game allowed it. However, I'm forced to decide between the two, and I feel very conflicted about it, I'll do one, but which one is my dilemma. The reason I am asking this question is because it will answer will tip the scales one way or another here, Vampires if there's no problems and Werewolves if there is, and as I've just barely started and thus probably won't do either for a while yet I can't experiment to find out.

Now, on the to reason this is an issue. In Oblivion Argonians that turned into Vampires would have a very disgusting appearance, they would have pinkish humanlike eyes and reset their skin/scales to the default appearance, creating a downright nauseating look. It was almost enough to make me not want to be a Vampire, but since otherwise being a vampire is incredible I always stuck with it. I have yet to find a mod for Oblivion that fixes this issue, (BTW if you know of one send it my way) and I'm quite concerned about it still being an issue in Skyrim. I also have no idea what becoming a Werewolf will do to an Argonian that becomes one, but I'm under the impression that race doesn't make much of a difference there.

EDIT: I have my answer, and much more quickly than I ever expected. I would like to personally thank Dread Skavos for providing it.

For anyone else that wants to know, it's below:

I'm going with the vampire, though since the player can be cured and infected with Vampirism multple times, I'll probably at least try werewolf once eventually. Now this question won't be the back of my mind annoying the heck out of me for the next several hours, again, thank you Dread.

Dude, make a save file, then get vampirism
If you don't like Vampirism, reload the save file and then don't get it.

Can't answer your vampire question, but I've seen a werewolf transformation on an npc and I'm fairly certain it doesn't affect your normal forms appearence, though the werewolfs appearence may depend on your normal form.

I've already addressed this, I've just started and thus it'll probably be a least a dozen hours before I'll be able to become a Vampire or a Werewolf, so experimenting to find out really isn't something I'll be able to do for a while, and I rather have the answer sooner than later.

My response vanished, I'll do it again...

I've already addressed this, I have just started Skyrim and I'll probably won't be able to become either a vampire or a werewolf probably for at least a dozen hours, so experimenting is out for a while, and I rather have the answer sooner than later anyway.

EDIT: My response to you reappeared just after I posted this one, I don't get what happened. I guess I was ninja'd by my own response.

oh, I'm sorry, let me rephrase it.

Dude, wait until you get to a point where you can become a vampire.
now make a save file,
then get vampirism

Let's see, how can I explain this any more plainly and obviously to you than I already have? Wait... I know! I'll put it in all caps!

IT WILL BE HOURS BEFORE I CAN DO WHAT YOU SUGGEST!!!! I CAN EVENTUALLY DO SO, BUT I'D RATHER HAVE THE ANSWER TO MY QUESTION RIGHT NOW!!!!

Soo... you bought skyrim, presumably with money, but didn't realise that playing for hours is kind of the whole idea?

It won't necessarily be that long, I somehow managed it within the first... hour? Maybe 2 tops.

Once you've escaped the whole "how to play" cave and get to the next town, notice the tomb on the hillside? Your buddy even stops to point it out. There's a quest in the town from the general store to go up there and get his golden claw back. It's the same one you might have seen when they were demoing puzzle elements of the dungeons. On the way up there, not in the tomb but just off the path leading to it, I ran into a vampire, and managed to get myself infected. You should be doing this at night, obviously. Not sure how random that was, running into a vampire on the way to my very first quest, but there it is. Vamped before I'd even decided if I wanted to do that on this game.

Also, I was not playing an argonian so no screenshots.

Wrong again. Yes, I paid for the game, yes I realized as a long time Bethesa fan that playing for hours on end is the entire idea, and I wouldn't have it any other way. However, I just want to know the answer to my question as soon as possible, so that I know what I should be focusing on accomplishing. Basically it's about saving my time by avoiding wasting it. The official player's guild obviously doesn't answer my question or I wouldn't even be here, so that's out, and I did Google it and didn't find anything, so I'm left with asking the players.

Thanks, that's helpful, but it sounds like that was completely random, as it doesn't occur inside a vampire lair, which means that it's probably not fixed.

Okay, How about;
Charge into being a vampire, and if you don't like the way it looks on you, wear a face-mask/helmet/whatever.

Yes, it is quite irritating. If MightyBill really wanted to be helpful he'd point out a vampire lair that I could reach within an hour tops of leaving the tutorial area, but a this point I'm wondering if I should report him as a you-know-what.

If it helps, my brother always plays Argonian, and he's running with a werewolf. It looks basically identical to other werewolfs I've seen shots of. It looks as though it just adds the werewolf mesh over the top, rather than warping the original.

No idea on the vampires though. He cured it before it took hold.

EDIT: This could be it...

EDITx2: Apparently, this is Morrowind, not Skyrim.

Here's the best answer you're going to get, OP, and it took me about ten seconds on Google:

Also, article at this link: http://videogamewriters.com/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-has-xbox-exclusive-dlc-same-sex-marriage-and-vampires-21971

So yeah, your 'I tried Googling it' comment holds no sway here...

Well, there's a vampire lair called Bloodlet Throne, up in the mountains from Falkreath. but that wasn't really the question you asked.

Thank you, that is very helpful, and it's also nice to see that only MightyBill is the only one on this thread that's decided to be as unhelpful as possible.
