The only problem I have with the armor in Skyrim is the female versions of it.
Just how massive do their boobs need to look?!
For example, the OP picture just looks ridiculous with those two orbs on the front...
I'm okay with armor following the female curves, but when it looks like massive silicone implants it just feels wrong.
I'd say that Skryim does a pretty good job (with many pieces of armor) in this regard. The glass armor, in contrast to that of previous games, actually looks like an incredibly robust suit of . . . well not glass but something that would probably turn a sword. That Breasts go from a respectable size to comical size when you put on such a suit seems reasonable as that particular armor seems incredibly thick and, unless you fancy having unnecessary weak points that happen to coincide with lungs and you also insist that your armor have molded breast pockets that is pretty much what you'd end up with.

In fact, if you discount a few suits of light armor (such as that forsworn armor), I was pleasantly surprised to find that when I handed a suit of armor over to my minion, it didn't look like I was just giving them a suit of clothing to slow them down so they'd be easier to kill which is the usual sort of thing I see.

In fact, I'd say that Skyrim probably has my favorite armor design of the entire elder scrolls series thus far. Granted, Daedric still seems wildly impractical and needlessly ornate but Steel Plate just looks like pure business.

Why are you lecturing me? I'm not the one complaining that the armors aren't small. I know what they are. Obviously the armours are still refitted and resmithed or smithed from scratch to fit modern day races and not the dwemer.
That's what I'm trying to get across.
The Dwemer were of similar size as the playable TES races.
No need to refit Dwemer armours for 'modern' races any more than there is to refit Dunmer bonemold armours for other races.
And he's a gimped out obese midget on a little spiderleg platform.
There are two Dwemer in Morrowind.
One is the 'fat' one.
He's not obese, he's suffering from corprus, which has bloating as one of its symptoms.
And the other is a spirit, a ghost, that shows the normal stature of the Dwemer.

Agreed.
The steel armor is absolutely gorgeous (helped by the fact that it's not needlessly weighted by extras and the ornate designs that don't get in the way or look like they take away from the protection).
It's the first armor I've seen in Elder Scrolls that I really thought looked like it was made by a real craftsman (someone worried about utilitarian uses AND aesthetics).

But I love the flash of Deadric (it fits that sort of over the top violence of Dremora and Daedric Princes).

I will say, though, I don't see the breasts as overly large. I think they look a bit tacked on on suits of armor (like lumps of clay added as an after thought), but they don't huge to me. Maybe it's because I've never made a female character with the thickest body type, but I don't see it.

Um quick question, WHERE CAN I FIND THIS ARMOR? Seriously I'm almost level 30 and I'm still stuck with steel heavy armor, I just can't find anything else.
Go and activate the warrior stone. Run around the plains of Whiterun shooting literally every dear, bear, fox and wolf that you see and gather up the assorted pelts, hides etc. Use it to get massive amounts of leather (I'm talking 100-200 pieces). Use all that leather to make leather bracers (Which only require 1 leather and 2 leather straps). Every 6 bracers or so is about 1 level up in smithing skill. I recommend doing this in whiterun, just sell the bracers at Warmaiden's. It may take you an hour or two but its probably the easiest way to get smithing to lvl 100 quickly. After that choose the smithing perks to make whatever armor you want.

Raj likes the look of them. Very ornate! Gives that "Fantasy Dovahkiin" feeling.

Sure, do not wear them. Raj might have in younger days, but prefers light armor. Easier on back. Always give heavy armor to Wife Mjoll as present.

But she always complain! "Why covered in blood? Are these stab holes?!?!?". Cannot appreciate gift. Not like Raj killed for armor. Person was dead when i got there! Not really care how he die, but is besides point.

She always think worse about me, not sure why. Not like im only person who puts moon sugar in tea. Much sweeter, gives good wake up buzz.

For the most part, I'd say that the heavy armor all took a notable turn this time around both in being interesting to look at as well as looking like they were designed for the purpose of keeping you alive when some large man with an axe was trying to figure out the quickest way to empty your body of blood. Sure daedric armor is ornate but then that could simply be because those who would craft such a thing would mold it after the daedra in the first place. You could even argue that daedric influence itself is what causes such a shift.

Light armor on the other hand is fairly universally useless seeming. None of the hide armor looks like it would keep you warm much less keep do much to slow down an arrow. Of the lot, I'd say that scale, glass and base leather are the only sets that seem like they'd do anything.

I honestly found myself going back to that steel plate armor for far longer than was really useful. Sure, I'd carry around a set of daedric gloves specifically for the purpose of punching people to custard as the game required but in the end and I spent my fair share of time in the Ebony mail (until I tried leveling up block but was frustrated by the fact people kept dropping dead if I didn't spend all my time healing them), but in the end all I really wanted was something that I could reasonably expect a practical protection minded warrior to wear in the face of large scale land warfare and annoying dragon attacks.

You're wife sounds almost as bad as Lydia ;)

Although, I thought Mjoll seemed like a nice woman.

I could teach you a calming charm...?

Regarding the sweet looking Nightingale Armor, may I direct you to a retexture mod that looks even sweeter?

That looks nice. Gonna give it a try. Thanks for the link.

I agree entirely about the Dardric Armor.

Light armor wise, I love the new look of glass (where it doesn't look like actual glass anymore), but I still question how useful it would actually be maybe because I just can't relate any real world material to it. The leather is fantastic, I just hate the fact that it looks like a skirt (so our upper thighs and knees aren't important? I would think that would be a good place for extra protection.

The Steel and Iron armors just seem to fit Skyrim (as a place) better. Iron is rusty and dirty and very much an every day warrior garb. But Steel looks like it has history. Like it's tied to the Nords in a way other than just being armor.

And how do we know how tall the dwemer were? They're all gone remember? ;) And orcs are elves, go figure.
Some Elves and men have lived a very long time due to magic and other suches. Vivec, Almalexia, and Sotha Sil, the gods of Morrowind had been present at wars with the Dwemer. There was still 1 dwarf left in Vvardenfell, and there are tons of statues just everywhere.

I actually like Dwarven armor. Thus far, it's my favorite, but when I forge a nice set of Daedric, that might take the proverbial cake. Granted I liked Oblivion Elven armor better, its just design, and I'm sure someone will make an armor mod. Give it time. Game isn't even a month old yet.

P.S. If Boba Fett and Darth Vader had a child, he'd be the single most badass thing in the universe.

The dwarves were 7 feet tall, and weren't dwarves at all. They were a race of elves called the Dwemer.

Love the Thalmor armor, haven't tried to enhance it yet, no good enough enchantments. Love the Nightengale Armor (you look like Revan!) The prettier robes. Also the Ebony is pretty awesome.

It's made out of malachite that is a real material
But it must be tougher like Obsidian in the Elderscrolls universe to able to make into weapons. Just like their ebony is a metal not a wood.

Dragon Armour looks pretty cool methinks but my character doesn't like the heavy armour, but his hirelings are wearing them but the robes, and shoes and circlets, they are fun.

That is possibly the most epic thing i have ever seen. I almost want to do a lighting mage build now.

OT: The dwarven armor looks stupid, but all the rest, especially the glass and draedic armors, look pretty sweet.

....I've gotta ask. WTF is with that first picture. It looks like Morrowind.
