Skyrim Beaten In Just Over Two Hours

If I recall from a friend (having never played it myself), Morrowind is actually beatable quite quick, right from the start. Point of having an open world is doing things as you see fit, I suppose.

Revealing that your game takes 2 hours to win is not good marketing, that said EVERYONE, including people who hate Elder Scrolls, knows that the main meat is in sidequests, in fact the most common criticism/praise I hear of Elder Scrolls in general is that the main story isn't that impressive and that the player has to go out and explore the game for the main content.

Besides there's a more important point to make. Quality > Quantity. I'm hoping Skyrim has both but I will always take a quality RPG over a boring ass Grind fest. Game looks good, I'm convinced there's a lot of content, 2 hours to win the main story is expected, I'm still excited.

Let's keep in mind that this is only the main quest. In Oblivion, not counting the DLC, there was still the Mage Quest line, the Fighter's Quest line, the Dark Brotherhood Quest line, the Theif's guild quest line, and lots of other random crap.

I figure a speed run of all of the various quests and random stuff would take a straight month, given time to eat and sleep.

Yeah, I read it(sort of), but I don't think it makes that much of a difference.

that means you missed the point where the guy who made the speed run had been play-testing it for a massive length of time as well as assist in designing the game? That does make a huge difference. Neither of us did that so we can expect a pretty massive game.

I might be good at playing games when I get started, but I won't be able to, nor ever will, get anywhere near that time.

20+ hours into Dark Souls, about half way through. Might pick up Skyrim once its discounted.

You do know that these 2 numbers have absolutely nothing to do with each other right? You could pretty much beat oblivion in 3 hours, but you still had easily over 70 hours of content before mods or dlc.

Demon's Souls was beaten in LESS than an hour.

I'm pretty sure I'll spend 2 hours in the character creator of Skyrim, as it looks more complex than Oblivion's and I could easily spend that much on it.

This is kinda crazy. I have to wonder exactly how that works in an RPG... oh well! I won't know all the tricks and things to do right away, so I'm not worried.

Come on! How can you make this game so horrible Bethesda?!?! Everyone knows the faster a speedrun is of your game, the worse it is! That's why Morrowind is one of the worst games ever made, since it was beaten in like 5 minutes. AAAAWWW MAAAN! This game's gonna suuuuuuuck!

Things like this always concern me because it means that the game contains essentially 3 hours of relevant content and hours upon hours of filler.

It's like people that level from 1-80 in four days in World of Warcraft..
Essentially, it makes you realize just how much of the game involves "grinding"

I sank maybe 30 hours into Oblivion and then found there was nothing else to do, even after trying every character-build.
I think Skyrim will be capable of standing up to much much more than that.
