Obviously, this only applies to people playing skyrim on pc. ive put about 50 hours into skyrim and have had very few technical problems but all of a sudden it seems like every 15 minutes the game will crash to desktop. i had a similar problem before, where the game would crash every time i tried to leave whiterun, so i uninstalled the game and am playing it now at the recommended settings, and with no mods. has anyone else playing skyrim on pc, had this problem? if so, did you ever find a way to fix it? its getting really frustrating.

also, i would really love it if this didnt turn into a pc vs console war

Hmm it's likely you don't have enough RAM. My old computer had around 3 gb and Skyrim STILL crashed constantly until I upgraded.

I would advise that you lower the settings and get some more memory for your computer.

i dont think thats it. i have 5 gigs of ram (though only 3.12 of it is useable). still, its not like ram is expensive so i guess ill give it a shot

Decrease audio quality to 24-bit 44100KHz, any higher sound quality and its insta-crash for many. My friend had the same problem and it turned out, that this was the fix. Give it a try :)

If you only have a 32 bit system, there's no point getting more than what you have. Upgrade to a 64B system to access more RAM. Also, 5GB? How do you get that?

im running 32 bit because i didnt think my processor could run 64 bit. apparently it can. oops, methinks i should correct this. as for the 5 gigs...i have no idea. i bought 6 gigs from newegg a while ago but only got 5 gigs. i didnt care enough to complain though because i only needed like 3 or 4 gigs

I think he meant how did you fit 5 GB in your PC? I've only seen them in multiples of 2GB before...

If you have a 6 slot board you might have 2/2/1 or 2/2/.5/.5 or something, it's possible, just really wierd. I'd yell at newegg.
