Alright, so this is what Bethesda announced yesterday :
http://www.bethblog.com/2012/12/03/dragonborn-coming-tomorrow-to-xbox-live-coming-to-ps3-and-pc-early-2013/

What do you all think of this?

Personally I think it's disgraceful that the company led PS3 users on for nearly 6 months with the promise of DLC #1 (Dawnguard), and now not only are they trying to lead them on further with the vague promise of the DLC 360 users will get tomorrow coming out 'early' next year, but they seem to be trying to sweep any mention of the first 2 DLC under the rug. I would also like to point out that along with this the PS3 is repeatedly shafted in terms of bug fixes and updates. It regularly takes weeks for a new update after the other platforms and the PS3 is currently waiting on one the 360 has had for nearly 3 weeks now.

Though if there's one thing I admire is the shitstorm going on at their site. PS3 users aren't taking this lying down and I'm willing to bet Bethesda was hoping they would recieve blind praise from that demographic simply for mentioning them in the blog post (first time in months).

What are you're thoughts on this?

Captcha: Downward Slope, that's oddly fitting for Bethesda's reputation right now.....

They should give PS3 users a discount on the DLC, that is what I think. I'm personally happy I bought it on Xbox 360.

Hmm i have mixed feeling. Thing is even if it did come out on ps3, i'm not sure i could play it. Since when i finished skyrim and did all the main quests and faction/profession quests i was at the 10mb per save bug. So what would happen is that every time i loaded, then game would start to grind after an hour. Basically it made the game unplayable. Kinda sad since i enjoyed my dark elf with her falmer chestplate and doing summon storm thums in the cities for kicks. I only ever found one in the game and those things were uncraftable but upgradeable thou.

So if they fixed that, then sure i'll be happy to get DLC, otherwise i'll just wait till skyrim is released on GOG since i dislike steam DRM. However i know it will never be released on GOG if at all, so oh well.

Why don't you just purchase the game on the console it was made for?
Because not all of us are made of money, and in no way should I believe that I'm somehow inferior for my console purchase, a machine almost exactly the same as that other one. Seriously, that's not a viable solution for everyone, and I'm sick of people telling me to spend a good $600 for the same exact product.

It's good that they're at least saying Dragonborn will be on PS3, at some point, in contrast to their horrible announcement from before that Dawnguard and Hearthfire will probably never work on it. I'm not too worried about those two - but Dragonborn actually looks to continue the main story, and I care deeply about that.

If this continues for the next DLCs, then I may consider never buying another of Bethesda's games. As childish as boycotts are. But if they continue to take money from Microsoft for stupid console DLC privileges, then I'll take that as a resounding punch to my face, because clearly they don't care about my money.

If that's the case Bethesda, I'd be happy to stop giving you it.

Sigh. I wish I believed them, but based on not only what they say about the PS3, but also how Skyrim handles on the PS3, and their past actions in regards to the PS3, I'm not believing that any Skyrim DLC is coming to the PS3. I just can't see how they've managed to fix all the problems they had for the first two DLCs. If they had fixed them, wouldn't they release them on the PS3, and not just jump to the third one?

Maybe I'll buy it for the 360 sometime down the road.

Bethesda just seems to hate the PS3 due to the fact of how long it has been. I really wish that companies would get bought out for DLC exclusives for a specific time. I mean just look at the past games from Bethesda. For example PS3 users had to wait for the GoTY edition to get a lot of the DLC; for Oblivion the PS3 users only got Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles; Fallout New Vegas had us PS3 users waiting not as long, but we still had to wait about a week to two for Old World Blues if I remember correctly; now with this game they just seem to be slapping all PS3 users in the face because of the fact that apparently the DLC "won't work on the PS3."

I really like Bethesda, but I can't forgive them for having such a long gape for this. They could have ironed out the major bugs by now but they don't seem to care. And I own this for the 360 because I knew this would happen, but it's still not fair to PS3 users at all, and from the past PC users with how long it took for them to get the DLCs which is sad because the PC are their roots so to speak.

It's ok PS3 users, Dawnguard was meh and Hearthfire sucked. Here's hoping Dragonborn makes up for them.

Meh. It'll be here when it gets here. Frankly if I wanted the DLC I'd just wait for the collection edition.

i was hoping for dawnguard for my werewolf char, because i wanted to upgrade his abilities.

I really don't understand what makes dragonborn so special that it'll run on PS3, but not the other two, kinda miffed that they're inconsistent as fuck....though i'll hold firm to my belief that there's a timed exclusive deal with MS and they're waiting for dragonborn to come out before releasing the other DLC on PS3

I dont really care anymore, I had enough Bethesda games on PS3 with Fallout 3 GOTY. I was originally planning to buy Skyrim, then I heard it doesnt work correctly either, so I looked up New Vegas Ultimate Edition which turned out is worse then 3, so I made the conclusion: F*** you Bethesda. My PC could run all of them, but no, you wont get any money from me, if you dont care, why should I? Screw you, I will play your games on my friends X360, for free, almost done with Oblivion...

Funny story, when Dawnguard was announced for xbox 360 first, I assumed it would come out for PS3 a month later. I told my cousin he can keep Skyrim until the DLC comes out for PS3...

I guess you can say I'm never getting Skyrim back. Hehe

Yeah... Personally I've decided to be the most passive aggressive to them that I can be by buying the GOTY used. No DLC or original game cash goes to finance them taking it up the arse from microsoft and I still get to mostly enjoy whatever broken mess they leave me with.

Yeah I know this is being a dick to them but screw it. I want their games but they don't want my money.

Well, the bad news is that Bethesda has been dragging its feet when it comes to DLC for PS3. The good news is that I, as a PS3 owner, have moved past Skyrim and now can't really care less if they do come out with DLC or not.

Even if Dawnguard does see the light of day (see what I did there?), they probably aren't going to be collecting any cash from me. Pretty unlikely that I'll be able to get re-excited about such an old DLC pack.

As for the new stuff, it's a "fool me twice, shame on me" scenario. They fooled us with Dawnguard. Now that I've written off their ability to "get shit done" on the PS3, it's unlikely I'll pay attention to the release of new stuff (if it even happens).

I got New Vegas Ultimate Edition for PS3 not too long ago. put over 20 hours in so far without a single problem. I read that it has issues for some users but I honestly have no idea. Mine has run perfectly fine thus far. I have a newer model ps3 if that makes any difference.
There are a few parts in the game that will cause some problems. I've played New Vegas so many times on the PS3 that I know certain bugs that are guaranteed to happen. For example Boone's I Forgot To Remember To Forget will drop to about 2 frames per second or completely lock up on you. It's weird. There are bugs, but trust me when I say that the game is awesome.

ok so is PS3 actually getting Dawnguard as was promised for 6 months or not? I'm not altogether that bothered about Hearthfire, but I don't beleive it's unreasonable of me to ask seriously Bethesda what the fuck?

1. I don't have a working 360, after buying 2 and having them break, I decided against a third, also I don't like paying an annual subscription for the priveledge of playing games online,
2. I don't have an obscene amount of money to spend on a decent gaming PC, and I prefer consoles

3, and most importantly, because I shouldn't have to, if Bethesda were worried about performance on the PS3 they should have designed it differently or just not release a PS3 version, since they did release a PS3 version they should expect the PS3 demographic to be pissed off when they delever on every platform apart from theirs,

My thoughts on this are, "Oh shit, it comes out tomorrow?"

And that I have a 360, and my time with Skyrim has been pleasant.
