I want... Let's see... Goddamn expansion packs

I'm getting sick of paying ten to fifteen dollars for a piece of content an eighth the size of what you could buy for a twenty just a few years ago.

Expansions. You know, Tribunal/Bloodmoon or even Knights of the Nine style stuff.

I'm very reluctant to part with my money for addons. Even though I loved Oblivion, and I had spent hundreds of hours of my time on it - I still haven't bought Shivering Isles.

I don't see myself paying for Skyrim DLC, at least not until I have come close to 100% completion.

No idea why Bethesda thought it was a good idea to tell us about DLC so early. This just disappoints everyone that has to play the game on a console, rather than a PC. PC gamers at least have a good modding community to fall back on.

lol shivering Isles, of course. Another frost tower with all your spell making and alchemy needs. Given that I won't want to actually work for my alchemy.. cause its friggin botany.
Never had horse armor.. but I assume its fun. I really, really really want the Skyrim team to keep updated on missed bugs for the console version. I tried to replay oblivion and ended up finding bugs I'd never known about and stopping. It let me down. Just before the sequel. That's plenty of time to patch the damn thing.

If there is a wiki, warning people about the bugs you left in your game, FIX THOSE BUGS. Have some pride in what you do! >.< GODDAMN YOU OBLIVION.

I wouldn't want weapons or armor unless it's in an expansion form. Like I don't want to pay money to add to my inventory.. although if they shivering isles it and add new armor to the experience I'll be on board.
I want either a cool home, or a cool base. OR, OOH, Stripper pole in my house. Cause the wife will need something to do for me when I get home from collecting money from the living things and people of Skyrim. Well, mainly the corpses, of said living things...

And werewolves. Though I'd prefer if I could be a conscious killing machine, just poof into a wolfy beast and do some tooth and claw shredding.
I don't doubt they'll make it super annoying like vampires, but I'd try it for the novelty.. at least.

Werewolves should hopefully be bulit in. C'mon, bethesda, practically everyone has asked for it!

I'd like a horror/mindtwisty expansion. Something lovecraft-esque would be nice.

This is going to sound gorram crazy, and probably is, but aliens. It's original, I don't think I've ever seen anything about aliens landing in a medieval/magical fantasy setting. It'd be hard to get the tone right though, thus why it probably would, heck, probably shouldn't happen.

Not in this game, anyway...

The game isn't even out yet and we're already talking about DLC? If there was ever any evidence that the gaming industry's current marketing model is broken, this is it.
Yeah, sure.

People are talking about spending more money on their game for add-ons.

Totally broken marketing. Potentially making them more money and stuff.

Terrible for business.
Not broken in the sense that it doesn't make money, but in the sense that people now expect to buy incomplete products. In terms of customer service, it's pretty fucking appalling. The apathetic masses may want to just accept it, but I won't.

That's kinda what I mean about EA, if you've gone and made this content, put it in the game already, don't charge us a bit more so we wont have a less than average experience (e.g. dragon age II exiled prince, or Mass Effect 2's Cerberus network)
That content is a bit different to DLC though. The content is free if you buy the game new, right? EA are effectively trying to reduce the second-hand market by extending their first-sale rights, rather than selling new incomplete games.

Ok, I see what you mean.

But at the same time, considering the scope of Skyrim, the game is going to be anything but incomplete. Hundreds of hours of potential gameplay out of the box.

I think it depends on your definition of "incomplete" really. I'm not for a second suggesting that if you want the game you'll feel like something's missing just by playing it... but perhaps they will add features that, while by no means essential, will feel like they should have been there in the first place. Also, just by knowing that there is content out there that you don't have, it will make the game feel incomplete to you even if it isn't. It really is mass-market psychological manipulation to a T.

At the end of the day, the idea that developers withhold content just to make a quick buck after release just really bugs me. If I ever buy a piece of DLC I always go through a few steps first:

1. See how long it has been between the game's release and the DLC's release.
2. Look online to see if the DLC is already contained on the disc and the download file is simply an "activation" code.
3. Judge whether the DLC contains content that, if it were included with the original game, would be considered an integral part of its story or structure.

If by looking through those I come to the conclusion that the DLC should have been included in the first place, I won't buy it. I'm not going to propagate this kind of underhanded money-grabbing. Of course, sometimes sticking to your principles is hard: the new DLC for Deus Ex: Human Revolution looks like it could be amazing. But then, the game hasn't even been out for a month yet and it's already announced. Eidos Montreal can take a chubby on that one for all I care...

Horse armor for 20$.
A definite purchase for me, I can't have my horse unarmoured.

In all seriousness though I'd love to see something more like Shivering Isles, or take some experience from Fallout. Please Bethesda, no mini purchases.

I'd really like to see them add new skills/abilities to the game with a DLC pack, my favorite part of TES series is slowly dragging all my skills up until I become powerful enought to wipe out cities.

maybe fishing or something, I like the construction idea too. If Bethesda want's me to fork over for DLC they better make it worth my while.

Tentacle bear armour...

Some interesting factions with more specific agendas would be nice.

Since they said their DLC was going to be leaning on the expansion pack size, I'm hoping for a huge place to roam my horse. It will be full of armor sets for it, horse colors, mane colors, and grooming items.

Actually, I would want something in the style of Mournhold (city of light, city of magic!). Either that, or something that involves the dwemer in some way or another. Their stuff was awesome in Morrowind.

Different themed homes like Oblivion had would be great. I loved every one of 'em. And a proper expansion is always good too.
Some free snippety ones'd be cool too. Like the spell tomes. But free.
