did you ever try touching the stones before purifying them?

There's a neat little easter egg involving it.

Where you get mind controlled into working on the shrine? Yeah, that happens if you sleep anywhere on the island too. You'll randomly wake up at one of the shrines toiling away with Miirak whispering sweet nothings into your ears XD

THE ELDER SCROLLS V: SKYRIM - DRAGONBORN DLC REVIEW

Like the title presentation. Very nice.

Also, the rest is good too. Very well done Fappy! Sad that the dragon riding isn't what they hyped it to be, but the rest sounds great.

I will definitely get this DLC.

:( When it comes out for PS3....

Excellently written review! Thanks to your words and argumentation you've succeeded in swaying a sceptic like myself.

Then again, mention Lovecraft and you're guaranteed to grab my attention.

I just want to know, that since we're returning to Bloodmoon territory... Anything new for the Hounds of Hircine?

I noticed you mentioned new spouses, who are the people you can marry? Because I didn't notice any.

I don't even think Hircine's name is ever mentioned at all. There's a werewolf clan on the island, but I don't think they have any direct connection to Bloodmoon.

Some of the Nords in Thirsk Hall are marriageable as well as the Blacksmith's assistant in the Skaal village.

Still a bit expensive for my taste to be honest, I'll get it when I stop being poor...
Just wait for the GoTY edition in that case. When they're done releasing all of the big DLCs I am sure it'll retail at $60 on release.

The Solstheim part is the thing I'm most excited about. I was looking forward to going back there after Morrowind....

Too bad I've got a PS3, and have decided just to wait for the GOTY edition.

Short version: Dragonborn is to Dawnguard what Shivering Isles is to Knights of the Nine.
As someone who didn't play Morrowind, but read up on a lot of the Morrowind-related lore on the wiki, I enjoyed all the Morrowind-ness.
I'm hoping the next DLC takes us to Akivair, as it's the only other known continent that hasn't been destroyed in some way, and it would be completely alien and fun.

So far, the Elder Scrolls has had expansion packs centered around Hircine, (Bloodmoon) Sheogorath, (Shivering Isles) and now Hermaeus Mora (Dragonborn), and Dagon had Oblivion revolve around him. (Apparently Molag Boll will be a big deal in TES Online)
What Daedric prince should they cover next?

Don't forget that Azura = Morrowind's main quest and Tribunal.

I'd honestly love to see Sanguine or Clavicus Vile related content. More Barbas is always good.

Unfortunately it's very unlikely we'll ever see Akavir as the developers have stated many times that they want the content of the games to focus on Tamriel. They may change their minds eventually... with this franchise you never know what they'll do next.

Akavir is like the Dwemer.

Its cool because you don't see it
That you don't see it makes you want to see it
Seeing it would ruin it because it could never be as cool as you imagined.

THE ELDER SCROLLS V: SKYRIM - DRAGONBORN DLC REVIEW
Fappy, you magnificent fellow you!! I was wondering if someone was to due this DLC justice and you, my friend.. just did that.
You have my thanks and I can honestly say you've convinced me 105% to buy this DLC, my friend and Nasrin also convinced me that this is a must purchase and I can't wait to get it!!

OT: I was already sold, but I began throwing money at the screen when you've mentioned the part about "Dragonborn adds new spells, dragon shouts, alchemical ingredients, exploding spider bombs, player housing, new followers/"pets", new spouses, powers, and more." Crap yeah, as much as I love new content I really have a thing for new followers, spells, and shouts especially. But the creatures being challenging ... yes yes and yes. Dawnguard didn't have much going for it, nor any creatures that interested me. This though, I must see. Christmas, come here soon!!
Thanks Frappe! Yeah, there is one particular new spell and a similar shout that I have been using constantly since I got them (I won't spoil what they are, but I can say the shout I speak of is not "Dragon Aspect"). A lot of fun new additions. One of the new followers has become an instant favorite of mine next to J'Zargo and Kharjo.

That covers full games, but did they say that DLC wouldn't focus on Akavir though?

Bethesda has said in the past that they wont do Akavir ever.

Akavir isn't important at all, and neither are any of the other landmasses on Nirn. Tamriel IS the center of the world, were all the major world shattering events take place, and all races want it. That is why the Sload of Thras, the Maormer of Pyandonea, and the Akaviri of... well... Akavir, have tired to invade Tamriel many times in the past.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Mysterious_Akavir
The Nords left Atmora for Tamriel. Before them, the Elves had abandoned Aldmeris for Tamriel. The Redguards destroyed Yokuda so they could make their journey. All Men and Mer know Tamriel is the nexus of creation, where the Last War will happen, where the Gods unmade Lorkhan and left their Adamantine Tower of secrets. Who knows what the Akaviri think of Tamriel, but ask yourself: why have they tried to invade it three times or more?

I got the DLC the day it came out (dont judge me) and it is arguably the best DLC i have ever seen for a game ever. i would have happily paid double for it as it is so epic. it makes dawngaurd look like a waste of memory.

Excellent! I know what I'm buying tomorrow. Looking forward to it.

And then there's the Elder Scrolls Online Beta, so much gaming, such little time :)
