As far as I'm concerned I love Skyrim as an RPG, not the best I've played (That will always be Final Fantasy IX) And I don't really care for MW3 or any of it's Ilk (Realistic shooters) The best FPS I've played has to be either: Bioshock or F.E.A.R The more unrealistic and fun the better =D

When I think of the worst fan skyrim can produce I think of a fat guy dressed up as their favorite D&D character getting ready to some public larping.

When I think of the worst fan Call of Duty can produce I think of this:
http://gamepolitics.com/2011/07/25/norwegian-killer039s-manifesto-mentions-modern-warfare-2-039training-simulator039

But in all seriousness, Call of Duty requires you to be exposed to screaming 8 year olds, people singing in your ear and a level of sexism and racism that I would have not thought possible until I heard it myself. I dunno what Skyrim fans are like but I am pretty sure ANY fanbase is better then the Call of Duty one.

I like both games. That must mean I'm superior to myself.
Wow, it's actually possible to like more than one thing at a time? Who would've thought it.

And yes, I think people who'll argue over this have far too much time on their hands.

Wait, you mean there are people who unreasonably dislike Modern Warfare and its fans?

MIND BLOWN.

So I was looking at this [http://fandom.memebase.com/2011/11/07/fanart-cosplay-damn-right-you-are/], and I thought it was truly pathetic, for what I think it implies.

To me, It implies that people who like Skyrim are superior to people who like MW3. If you honestly think that you are superior to someone because they don't like the same things you do , you are truly pathetic, and have no business forcing your opinions on other people as if they were objective facts. It doesn't matter whether you like Call of Duty or not, but thinking that not liking it makes you superior is complete idiocy.

Being someone who likes a lot of things, I like both MW3 and Skyrim. They're both great games (don't even start, MW3 is great, and Skyrim goes without saying), especially for their genres, and they're both great fun. But the notion that preference is an indicator of superiority is ridiculous. That's like arguing that people who like ball point pens are superior to people who like mechanical pencils. It makes no sense.

In fact, this doesn't just happen with Skyrim, this happens with a lot of other games as well.

Am I just reading to much into this, and extracting messages that aren't there? This is the only place this happens right?

never mind [http://memebase.com/2011/11/16/internet-memes-and-push-to-skyrim/].
Just goes to prove that fanboys and haters are exactly the same. Annoying as hell!

Just ignore them and enjoy what you enjoy.

Point of Order: They're completely different Bloody games!

Battlefield 3 fans however, are clearly superior to those of MW3.

And StarCraft II trumps the lot!

I was with you right up until you said that point. Yes true, no one is better than anyone else 'really' but if you did a study, I'm sure you'd find that more intelligent people play Skyrim than MW3, let?s face it, Skyrim is a different sort of game.
If you think you are better then somebody because of the games you play then you are a dumbfuck. I apply that statement to anybody who thinks they are better then somebody because they have different opinions on purely subjective material.

Also your post makes you look like an uptight elistest fuckwad who I would love to punch in the face if I ever met in real life. Just letting you know how you are coming across.
I agree that you can't grade the intellect and personality of people based on what they play, eat, believe, wear, etc. etc.

But TES games tend to take patience before you really start getting to the awesomeness of it all, and the CoD fanbase isn't really known for patience.

So no, I don't think anybody is smarter or stupider because of what games they play, but the hardcore elitist CoD players who brag about their 3.12 K/D are probably not going to sit down and play TES for hours on end.

Not everything is for everybody, and just because stereotypes are there doesn't mean that they apply to everyone. But they are there for a reason.

No fans I know are "superior" in any way. Halo, CoD, Skyrim, Gears of War, whatever fanbase you care to name are all filled with massive dickbags for each non-twat in that fanbase. For every n-word spewing 12 year old on CoD, there's your Hutch or Seananners. Same goes for just about any game or really, anything at all.

No, don't get me wrong. I love both. I just finished MW3. I just think it's a stupid discussion. Mostly because it's about COD fans being MOSTLY, multiplayer. Hence, faith in humanity has been restored.[/quote]Wait, what does multiplayer have to do with anything?
I can understand criticism for MW3 considering how rushed it was, but feeling superior to someone due to video game choice just seems ridiculous to me.

I think what people mean is that MW3's community, not each individual person as a human, is inferior.

That is mainly due to MW3 being a competitive game at the core of the community and with such a vast array of people playing it, competition brings the worst in everyone. (unlike the competition found in fighting games where a limited and highly specialized community is pushing the genre forward with good sportsmanship and other camaraderie-bulding elements)

While Skyrim is a single player rpg. You have the community actually create content for the games and some of it is even applied to Skyrim by the official developers. (such as the bows being slower and stronger) In skyrim nobody is out to shoot or kill anybody else, people are co-operating through communication towards sharing the love for a common goal. That goal is simply to experience the game and have as much fun as possible with it.

Now, while people by themselves are not inferior or superior to one-another, the communities built around the games indeed differ tremendously. This doesn't mean that if you only like CoD you're a retard with only interests in instant gratification or that all of Skyrimhood is smarter than you, it just means that most people who play skyrim have a more pleasant experience when interacting with the rest of the people playing skyrim than you will most likely have. There is no artificial player-generated grief to be found in skyrim.

Why does everyone feel the need to defend MW3 when it is making more money than any game in the history of the universe?

Quoting: Youre doing it wrong. AAAND I CORRECTED YOUR POST.
Not that that matters though...
AAAANYWAY, No one talking about superiority, it's just a fact ;) By taking this too seriously, you're just giving me more to go on.
