Its bethesda so your best bet is to just flip a coin. Other then the vampure bug in the game of the year version of oblivion the game ran perfect on the ps3. I literally did not encounter a single bug during the 20 hours or so that I played it.

Fallout 3 also ran extremely well on the ps3 right up untill the released the dlc for it. Funny thing the dlc had the exact same bugs as the 360 version which they never bothered to fix or patch.

So really its not that bethesda fucks over ps3 players they just fuck over everybody. The ps3 and pc get the slightly shorter end because they get the dlc later. If it was any company besides bethesda this would mean these versions would have less bugs but this is bethesda and they dont give a fuck about fixing bugs.
Oblivion never got most of the DLC on the PS3, so it really is Bethesda screwing over PS3 gamers. Atleast on PC there are alternative ways to get the DLC, not so on the PS3.

Your mistake is not getting it for PC. Mods, mods, mods. They will turn a 50 hour game into a 100 hour+ game and you'll have damn good fun with them.

Well I didnt know that although it does not surprise me. If you care about dlc I would definitely get it on the 360 if I were you.
Well, I don't think they will do that with Skyrim, I am just talking about how they treated Oblivion PS3 gamers. I think Fallout 3 on the PS3 got the DLC.

It's been designed for the console, just like Oblivion. I remember commenting once on how crappy Dragon Age 2 is on the PC and being told that I should have bought it for a console, since it was designed for consoles.

I'm a modder so I have to get it on PC.

I can't play games like Fallout 3/NV or Oblivion on console. The basic game is okay but never enough ... i'm greedy and I want more, with those games I can make more.

Although to be fair I gave up on consoles completely, gave mine to my son. Prefer the PC.

Don't care if a game isn't designed for the PC and it's a port I have that many utilities on my PC that 9 times out of 10 I can fix the issues myself.

When I had problems with a console game then I have to wait for them to patch it. With PC I can generally deal with it myself even if it is a pain in the arse it's still a hell of a lot faster.

Take Oblivion. People complain that the NPC's are bland yet in my game they all look, dress and act differently and all with high res textures (you have no idea how long that took me ... I swear I hope Skyrim is better than that, I never want to go through that again).

Main reason I wanted to get into modding is for that kind of thing. Morrowind was where I started and that was a ***** to mod for (thgouh Fallout 3 gave me more headaches).

You can have graphical overhauls, high res texture overhauls, NPC overhauls and generally improve the look and feel of everything without changing the game itself. On the console you will only ever get the pure basics.

I hear console users complain that Oblivion doesn't look very good yet on mine it looks awesome after spending close to 6 months going over each and every NPC and getting a load of graphical and texture improvements.

I don't care what anyone says, you can't compare games like that on the Pc and console, they are vastly different because a PC user can switch things up to how they want the game to be while a console player is stuck with the basics.

Not going to say PC is better in a generalising way, it may seem that way but I have a reason.

Being a modder I can't do what I want to do on a console, no freedom at all. For some people thats okay and it doesn't make any difference to them. It's not good enough for me.

I like my PC and I like my mods.

anyway my plan is to get it for ps3, and then when i get round to buying myself a decent pc, get it for pc. the quality of support for the ps3 version will determine whether i buy or pirate the game for pc.

Eh, I'm getting it on PS3. I never had the whole 'oh noes game breaker vampire' on PS3 simply because the bug could be circumvented by changing your system language, talking to witch lady and switching back. Only problem that caused for me was a could of the NPCs from Shivering Isles appearing outside the gate. Nothing major. For me, anyway.

Other than that Oblivion was fairly stable for me and I expect Skyrim to be better, so PS3 it is!

I just bought a PS3 a few days ago and I am loving it. I had a pre-order for Skyrim on the 360 and switched it to the PS3 a few days ago. Was that a mistake?

I just found out today how badly Bethesda has treated the PS3 with Oblivion and with Fallout 3. I have been looking for any PS3-Skyrim info and have found nothing useful. Do you think Bethesda is going to screw over PS3 gamers with this release too? Should I consider changing my pre-order back to the 360 version?

I really prefer the PS3, my son has taken over the 360 and I really haven't touched it in a long time. All things being equal, I prefer to get the PS3 version but will all things be equal?
All the features will be the same, but the graphics wont be HD, and you;ll wait a year for DLC. Bethesda, like many developers, hate putting shit on PS3 because Sony made it stupidly difficult to work with. Add to that the extreme market superiority of the 360, and it's small wonder the 360 package is the best deal.

No, this isnt fanboying, I own a ps3 and had copies of both fallouts and oblivion on both systems. I have since sold all the ps3 copies to purchase things like Nuts'n'Bolts and Saints Row 3
