Hey all, I am having a very pain in the ass problem with Skyrim, I have a newly built PC with GTX 580 3GB, 16GB RIPJAW RAM, core i7 2600k and Skyrim runs very very bad. Even at lowest settings it like 20 (or lower) FPS, so far the only way I can get it to run at a normal speed, is if I make it on lowest settings and play it in the smallest window mode, Can anyone help me out??

And I have already updated my drivers to the latest and that didnt help, I even tryed using the Beta Drivers...

Is this a known issue or what because I just got this PC last week for this game...

Do you have enough RAM and GB and all those things?
My computer was made for SC2 being mid-tier good and it seems to run these games just fine. How much did you spend on your computer?

That's weird. Do you have similar issues with any other games or just Skyrim. If not then it could be day one issues with either your card or Nvidia drivers in general. Might have to wait for a patch in the end. It's hard to know for sure when it comes to Bethesda games on launch day.

Might want to try asking around their official forums as well.

He's got the JAW ram.

Did the Fallout games run fine for you?

I'm only repping a HD Radeon 5770 with 8Gb of DDR3 1333Mhz and a Phenom x4 3.2Ghz. I don't know how your Nvidia card compares, but mine's pretty mid range and it's caning Skyrim on High.

Really no idea what it might be, but your hardware should be able to handle it.

EDIT: Onboard graphics eh, well glad it's fixed. Though really, I thought most motherboards would use PCI cards first once they're in.

All Sandy Bridge CPUs have an onboard GPU. While it is rather weak when it comes to gaming, it is a beast at encoding video, often beating encoding performance of top end dedicated GPUs. I am guessing the OP has a Z68 chipset motherboard which allows overclocking as well as use of the Intel GPU for in the right situations.

ahh, I remember reading about that somewhere. I guess they kept the term i7 for the sandy bridge chips then?

Yes they did. You can tell which are the SB ones as they have a 4 digit number identifying them while the older ones have 3 digits.

Skyrim is my first Bethesda game on PC. All others were PS3 which bugged up huge. I suspect they would run seeing as their specs are likely a lot easier.
