I've used the console a few times, the only time it could be considered cheating though would be when I used it to level my Enchanting from 80 to 100. It's fucking pointless levelling it, the only reason I'd want it is for the lv100 perk which requires me to collect a shit ton of petty soul gems. They really didn't think much on what the level of a skill actually means; it's just a fucking number, perks are what matter. I'd extend that to the levelling system as a whole in fact. Bethesda said they didn't want people to chose their primary skills before the player knew what they wanted to do, so instead they implemented a system that makes the level of something meaningless and placed a reliance on non-refundable perks that pretty much determine the value of your skill; providing effectively the exact same problem.
The other time I used the console was with a newly made Orc warrior, I changed his default stats to 25 Magicka, 150 Health and 150 Stamina, I think I buffed a few skills too like heavy armor and two handed. That was more to solve another issue I had with the game though, upon your escape from Helgen you suck, every skill is a low level. My problem lies with the fact you're caught near Skyrim and brought in for execution, the game practically forces you to believe that prior to your capture you spent your time in the world doing nothing. I'm an Orc *****, what's to say I wasn't pillaging a small settlement 10 minutes before you caught me? And if I was my skills in combat and rape wouldn't be so low, gawd.
But yeah, I don't really feel like I've cheated, I would know if I did because cheating kills games for me. I just fixed a few problems I had with the game, I just wish there was a console command to remove my ability to shout loudly but have dragons exist at the same time. I fucking hate storylines where I'm the baws to rule them all and everyone sucks in comparison because I paid £40 and they don't exist irl.
