skyrim help!

Ok so i'm playing skyrim and i've found a new shout (disarm) but i can't unlock it even though i've killed two dragons, am i missing something or am i being really dumb? (if it helps i've sold all the dragon bones and scales, don't know if these are important)

Are you playing on Xbox? If so press "X" when selecting the shout to unlock it.
Did you actually absorb their dragon souls? Sometimes if you are too far away it wont happen.
Do you still have any dragon souls?

These are the only things I can come up with.

If its on xbox, sometimes the patches wont work unless your online. Playing off line (i am up to date) i got a backwards flying dragon that was mammoth droped by a flying mammoth without giveing a soul. saved when online and poof soul. Or it could be another i didnt know to push x.
