i want to go imperial after i saw windhelm, where are they tell me, i can't find them.
I know you can find imperial patrols around Whiterun (I would assume it is to allow people who accidentally followed Ralof, or decided to go imperial later, a second chance). If you walk by them, they'll be like "Yo, dawg, I heard you leik imperial-kipz!" and then the quest'll be put in your log.

Guys, I have a question, if I went with the imperial at the beginning of the game(didn't even know I had a choice at the time), can I join the rebels afterwards or do I need to do the unbound quest again?

If you want to join the Rebels, assuming you haven't joined the Legion yet (it may be possible to join both, but I doubt it), just go to Riverwood and/or Windhelm, and talk to Ralof or a Stormcloak; they will be like "Yo dawg, come join the Stormcloaks!" And then it'll get added to your quest log.

Thanks a lot. I am around level 8 and I was worried that I would have to start again.

I'm probably going to join the Stormcloaks. I haven't played yet I'm still waiting on delivery, but I did get to watch the first hour or so when my best friend was playing his pre-loaded Steam download. He went Legion, but I disagreed with the choice he made. To each their own though.

Can somebody enlighten me as to the pros and cons of each side? My epic quest for poontang may have led me astray.

EDIT: For bonus points, is it possible to get with Saadia? The Redguard woman at the Bareback Mare (or whatever that inn is called)? I want to put a ring on that.

Stormcloaks.

Why?

"Forget the list, he/she goes to the block!"
Sooo seconded, WHY would I run towards the guys wishing to execute me?
And you get the added benefit, that you get to kill the nice captain when you go with the Stormcloaks.

Revenge is a dish best served with a flame spell to the face!

@I_am_a_Spoon: Story probably. You make your way to fighting the big dragon while fetching and killing for the empire/stormcloaks. Stormcloaks have blue, but you will be able to get a lot of imperial armor after killing them, imperials have red, but vis versa.

I'm THINKING I'll go with the stormcloaks. If there is anything big on the imperial side in terms of armnaments I'll try to steal it from whoever gives it out/massacre my way into whatever building it's in.

Take your faggy roleplaying ass out of here.

Hahahaha! I'm actually laughing at that..
Heh. No, I think I'll stay actually. You seem to have no interest in the thread though. No contributing or anything. Just one little comment to assert your dominance over "faggy roleplayers"..
Soo, you know, go throw your trolling self off a bridge or at least do something constructive instead of trying to take your insecurities out on me.

To everybody freaking out about the intro it makes no difference who you followed you can still join either side. Regardning the subject at hand I still have no idea who I want to join, I have been loyal to the Empire since Morrowind days but now it seems like the EMpire just isn't the same, no Dragon-blood emperor, no Talos worship allowed, it seems like if I join the empire I'm actually joining that faction of High Elves and that is something I very much don't want to do. I hate the idea of fighting against the empire I spent so much time preserving in Oblivion and gladly championed but if they have fallen as far as I think they may have then I would hate to see Skyrim fall with them. Basically I'm just waiting to see if the Empire is worth joining and preserving or if its just too far gone and revolution is indeed in order.

I too inadvertently followed the Nord and wasn't aware of the choice until watching the BlueXephos and Day[9] playthroughs.
I made a High Elf Mage character and so far it seems that the Nords / Stormcloaks don't like Mages very much. So thinking at this stage of joining up with the Legion.
Anyone know if I'm correct in my assumption re: Stormcloaks and spellcasters?
I haven't played the previous games so wasn't aware of the High Elf support for the Empire. Sounding more and more like the way to go for me...

One visit to Windhelm and I started seeing Stormcloaks as medieval neo-nazis. So naturally I sided with the Empire.

Also I never quite understood the reason for the rebellion.

I hate them equally. The Stormcloaks are comprised of xenophobic Nords who want to purge the land of any people aside from themselves. This is offensive on many levels, not the least of which is that I rolled a Breton.

The Imperial Army on the other hand, is ruled over by a cowardly emperor who lacks the self-sacrifice one would need in such a position. The Empire also forces harsh taxes onto the people of Skyrim, which apparently a lot of people can't pay.

Although I'm not sure about the last part, after all I've been in dozens of houses and seen the valuables that people keep. Those valuables are mine now.

I think I'll side with the Imperial Army when I get around to it, the Stormcloaks methods would cause years if not decades of problems, whereas all we need to do is wait for the Emperor to die and hope we get a better one.
