Reminds me of the SC2 release, NZ had its mitts on it before anyone else pretty much as Blizz didn't pull the usual "based off American time only" most releases have but said midnight July 27 and we got it on midnight July 27.

Was Awesome.

and before you decide to move to Australia we should also talk about the poisonous snakes, Jellyfish, Octopi, Stone Fish, sharks etc. Just don't get me started on the Drop Bears.
US tourists who are fine with the spiders and snakes never account for the drop bears, its important to keep an eye on the trees for their shape luckily most of the trees here are not very thick in the branches so its easier to spot the,

And I'm assuming vegemite behind the ears is the only way to prevent the beast from viciously murdering you, right?

OT: Fuck Steam.

Apparently GAME posted them out early.

Word got around, everyone else started selling it...
*blink* GAME? Really? I wasn't due to be in til the launch but... if that's right... I'll probably get a call through my beauty sleep that my shift has been changed. Unnnghhhh.
Well that's what I heard at least.
Though to be fair, my source isn't the most reliable...

Either way. It's out, I have it, I'm taking tomorrow off, I'm happy :D

Before the Australians start posting about the Skyrim bugs:

Thank you Australia for agreeing to test out the game and find some bugs for the devs to create a patch for the world wide launch.

I picked my copy up (Limited Edition with the map, notebook and art cards) at about 3:40, and I'd just finished my Maths exam when I got the text, which was about 3:15.
Definitely a good end to an otherwise boring day.
There were about 4 other people there waiting to pick it up when I arrived at EB, and another 5 showed up while I was waiting in line.
Probably won't play it until next week so I can focus on my exams though :/

Ladies and Gentlemen: the only time I have ever been jealous of Australia for something Video game related.
I know it isn't video game related but they also have a minimum wage for $15.25/hour and a averager income of 65,000 (20k more than in the US) and in case you are wondering the aus dollar is slighly stronger than the US dollar. So a couple of luxery items cost more there, but all things considered and throwing in the nice weather, it seems like it could be a pretty greate place to live.

Hmmmm. I wonder how I apply for legal alien status in aus. Yatzee should do a special on it. I could move to Sydney
I see that you didn't mention giant ass spiders. Australia has giant ass spiders.
The most lethal and aggressive species of spider here hasn't killed anyone in over a decade, not to worry

yeah, but I would know they were there and I'd end up using all the extra pay on raid and spider traps
I'll try put your mind at easy. The most dangerous spider in the country is the Sydney funnel web, I have lived and camped in Sydney my entire life and have never even seen one.
It would be like me feeling uneasy about moving to the US because I'm afraid of grizzly's. If you see any creatures at all it will be a possum or neighborhood cat, dont surf at dawn or dusk and youll be fine :p
I hear what you are saying, but if I saw one of these, I would run all the way back to the U.S. and find someplace to hide.

Also, unlike spiders, it is hard for a bear to surprise you in your house.

Steam won't let me install it yet :(
As far as I know, aside from Brink, Bethesda doesn't allow pre loads, which is lame. Anyone who doesn't allow pre loads of PC games sucks.

Drop bears? Ha. I thought Terry Prachett made those up. I didn't realize it was a myth outside of the discworld series

Oh Geez guys. Are you seriously so mad at Valve, creator of many of the world's best games and the INCREDIBLY useful service that is Steam? The company set a release date and Valve honored it. How unfair.

Anyway, it's 11:27pm here...got about an hour and a half til my Steam download unlocks. I'm sure I'll spend more time than that just customizing my character's face!

I was confused seeing as some people said that steam wouldn't let them install it, but I guess that's because they got the physical copies. I stopped buying physical copies ever since I realized you don't pay taxes on Steam.

Fuck, I thought Australia was the land of game-hating neo-Nazi's. Good for you! Glad something's finally gone your guys' way!
