I really think everyone is overreacting with this. I doubt it's like Mass Effect, where there's intimate conversations and cutscenes with Shepard's "partner"; from what the developers have said - that you can marry anyone, regardless of gender - it just sounds like it's a generic process with which they haven't bothered with player gender checks. A clumsy decision, perhaps, but hardly a deliberate "legalisation of gay marriages", as some threads put it.
I'm all for this, I think it's great that developers are finally allowing gay relationships to be present in their games. While I admit the whole marriage thing sounds like a pointless gimmick (if memories of the Fable games are any indication) it is nice to see homosexual relationships are finally being given proper attention.
Hopefully next stop is a game with an actual gay protagonist. That said, given how hostile some people are being about this... I don't see that happening for a while.
This. I'm gay and it pisses me off when I not only see the media reinforcing this stereotype, but people in real life deciding that that's the only way they're allowed to behave. It's just f*cking stupid.
