Playing any amount of Skyrim makes me feel really really dizzy. I don't know why. I've tried changing the field of view to a larger number but it still makes me feel dizzy. I'm fine with other games such as Dota 2 and Kingdoms of Amalur though.

Can anyone help me out here?

I had a similar problem with Half Life on PS2, I vaguely remember the screen ratio being slightly off and the frame-rate being silky smooth compared to other PS2 games. If I had to take a random guess (bearing in mind this was about 10 years ago), I would say that there was a boat load of screen tearing since the frame-rate wasn't capped, so maybe enabling v-synch could help.

if you're doing melee... use 3rd person mode. It's MUCH MUCH better then 1st person mode for melee.

You might want to check your framerate.
Some people have issues with framerates being too low, and getting motion sickness from that.

As mentioned, field of view of at least 80 (on a 16:9 screen). I like 85.

Try turning off some of the effects. Don't remember if motion blur is in the game, but that's sometimes responsible for dizziness.

Dota and 3rd person doesnt have FOV since you dont see from first person perspective
I really wish more 3rd person games had FOV options. I literally threw up playing Mass Effect and I couldn't even plug in my controller and further back on my bed without pissing around with third-party programs. None of the FOV tweaks I found on the interwebs worked for me either.

I had similar issues with Alan Wake but I could at least plug my controller in and sit far away there.

Never played either of those games but yea i heard some people had problems with Mass Effect very close camera, planing a trilogy run at some point. It might have been the artist department that did a poor optimization

But yea PC gaming and FOV settings should become a standard since there is a huge variance between setups. And jumping to the PC architecture with PS4 might end up throwing up a freebie to the PC.Already with new tech we might see a heavy bump on the FOV since with new power more rendering will be possible
