So. I'm playing Skyrim. I've played every conceivable type of character. Two-Handed weapons are gloriously visceral, especially if you manage to snag Volendrung at a low level. Melee assassins are simply all sorts of devious fun, especially if you grab the 15*dagger sneakycrit perk, and the Shrouded Gloves;try it in a Falmer hole! They can't see! And then there's mages; The most OP of OP character concepts. Impact+Shock Spells=Stunlock'd dragons.
Recently,I've made an archer character. Because, let's face it;SOMEONE has to fire on every patella in sight.
And I'm utterly underwhemed by the effectiveness of bows.
I can understand game balance, but a longbow is still a longbow, capable of overpenetrating an armoured patella and the horse that the man is riding. I have a mod that completely restructures the game's Perk Trees, called "Perky". It includes,at level 90 Marksman,a perk to ignore armour values with bows. That's nice...But it doesn't change the fact that bows deal little damage.
My Marksman skill is in the sixties, and my elven bow deals 21 damage. With a comparable Two-Handed skill and a warhammer that's not Volendrung,I deal, very easily,at least 35. Volendrung often doubles that, but since it's a Daedric Artifact,it's understandable (plus it's buiffed by a mod that makes Daedric Artifacts worth the effort). I want a mod that gives bows and arrows some teeth. No,not a mod that adds a specific, powerful bow. Ideally,I want a mod that increases bow and arrow damage across the board,or,failing that, modifies existing bows, like the Nightengale Bow,to deal more damage. This mod CANNOT touch perks,as it would more than likely conflict with Perky. And I don;t want OP levels of strengthening;just enough to make bows hit about as hard as a zweihander.
It doesn't matter if the mod is Workshop or Nexus. I've already done a basic search, but I probably missed at least one useable mod.
