Personally, judging by the quoted persons spelling, they do not seem like the kind of person who would enjoy anything like Skyrim, who would probably benefit more from the mindless shoot 'em up that is MW3 or something...

It's delivered on most people's expectations, and surpassed many of them.

Overhyped, it was not. Just isn't your thing.
This. It's so good I'm actually having trouble judging it.

blah blah, everything is technically overhyped, but just because you don't like it means everyone doesn't like it. In fact, everyone I've talked to IRL is loving it.

Seriously, other than the occasional bug or crash, It's pretty damn amazing. Seems to be quite a bit more emphasis on "massive awesome epic moments", and I guess I could see why some people might not like that, defending your favorite village from a random dragon just feels great, as you slay it the villagers gather round and cheer for you...feels good.

And screw it, I love the new leveling system. No more people tediously min-maxing levels so that they got the 5x multiplayer for their attributes, which was a pretty shitty system to begin with. Honestly, other than the possible exception of random crits (and even those are starting to grow on me), I love all of the actual gameplay changes they've implemented. Hell, even the regenerating health doesn't bother me, since it really has little/no impact on fights, and just keeps you from having to spam heals spells after every encounter. All good.

Not at all, in my opinion it is a worthy sequel to Oblivion. The only thing that disappoints me is the in-game map. I have come to hate it so very much. It's hard to know where things are, you can't see roads, the clouds obscure things, you can't get a normal overhead view, only that sideways, annoyingly not-quite-overhead view, and it looks painfully low-poly.

Besides that, I love the game to bits, and I know I will get very much play time out of it.

Yes. Of course I've learned to filter over-hyped sugar monkeys railing about games that will be forgotten or of average renown in a few months.

I think Skyrim is crap. I loved Fallout 3, and this is more or less the same engine and play style, but this fantasy crap just ruins the game for me. However, this game has more fanboys than Call of Duty, and they are far more rabid. I hope you donned a flame-resistant suit prior to writing your post.
The game isn't crap. You just don't like fantasy. I don't see what you're getting at. That's like saying the Discworld series is crap because you don't like the color purplish-green.
It's crap to me. The italicized bit is implied in a post that is 100% subjective to my tastes and in a sentence that is started with "I think". It is an opinion, too few people these days can tell the difference between an opinion and fact, and just assume that their opinion IS fact, which is both arrogant and stupid.

Maybe it's the "you sods" comment?

Personally, it's delivered everything i was hoping for and more. I won't say it's PERFECT, i recently realised that they bragged on and on about how equiping something to each hand lends so much more creativity to how you play the game. Not so. This only seems to apply to spell casting. It in fact REDUCES from oblivion, where in which you could have THREE things equiped (sword/axe, shield AND a spell) which was very handy in a tight spot because you didnt have to pause, menu, unequip, equip... etc.

And hotkeys... i miss hotkeys. Although im not ENTIRELY sure if they aren't in skyrim and i just havn't realised.

It's also a bit easier than oblivion. Ive already made it to level 12, a feat that in oblivion would have taken at least an entire day of solid grinding. As well as this, the leveling seems very random; i have managed to get to about 34 (or something) in the lockpicking skill tree, and i can count the amount of locks ive opened in two hands... and a foot maybe. BUT, ive had heavy armour on from the word go, and THAT skill is only at 27 (or something).

Those are my only two (or three) gripes with it, but theyre dwemered (dwarfed, GET IT! i think i spelled it wrong) by the things that make it such a good game. I can now say ive found a game that is stunningly beautiful. The first time i saw the auroura borealis, i was still for about 2 minutes... before i got savaged by wolves. It was so unexpected and so good looking.

IN MY OPINION LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
The hotkeys are very well hidden. You press F in the menu to set an item or spell as a favorite. Then you press Q to bring up favorites. While you're in the favorites menu, you can press any number while hovering over an item to set it as to that key. The only real problem I've seen is that there's no good way to use this system to equip two weapons unless they're they're stackable (you're dual-wielding the same type of weapon). With spells, you can just get whatever you want into your right hand by pressing the hotkey twice, and then pressing whatever you want in your left hand once.
Err thanks all the same, but i'm on the xbox xD

I'll keep looking though, and i'll damn well enjoy it!

If I don't like something, and it's popular, then the only explanation is that it is overhyped!

Logic!

played it at a friends house, gaming PC, started a new game, and i was completely impartial. im a avid fan of RPG's, and i was disappointed. it wasn't particularly good, a mediocre RPG with a few nice shines,i honestly don't understand what the fuss was about....OT no, its not really, but as aforesaid, Opinions are wonderful/terrible possessions.

I don't even own the game lol. I'm just pointing out you shouldn't just call something crap because you don't like it. If the game was broken then it would be crap. But it's functioning fine. If the game didn't do what it was intended to do then it's crap. If you knew you didn't like fantasy and you bought it anyways then you should be mad at yourself.

First of all, I didn't buy it, although I might later for the modding capabilities. I never said it doesn't work properly, although, knowing Bethesda, it probably is full of bugs. It's a game I don't like due to the setting, which is a major thing, hence making it crap in my view.

What does "hotkey" even mean on an xbox? Are there a couple of buttons that have programmable functions of some sort? Couldn't you figure this out by, you know, pressing all the buttons to see?
