MIA Sam. I beat you in a drinking contest and woke up with a hangover in the temple of dibella. You are gone and I think you stole their staff. I hate mornings like that.

I decided that lies and deception were not the way to go and made you fight your rival in love.
You really should have brought a weapon...

R.I.P Lydia

I'm sorry that dragon used you as a chew toy, but it was hard to get your body down from that tree...

RIP Jordis the Sword-Maiden...apparantly,
incredibly buffed-out and massively enchanted Dragonplate armor that lets you go toe-to-toe with a Dragon Priest isn't enough to prevent getting insta-killed by Alduin. I swear, she was dead about three seconds into that fight, leaving Shadowmere to tank the World-Eater while my mage/thief shot fireballs from as far away as she could.

ED: Also, RIP Alvor, the blacksmith fellow in Riverwood. Went on a suicidal charge against an Elder Dragon, presumably pushed over the brink by working day in, day out next to the bodies of his wife and the thief that killed her lying next to his forge.

RIP Lydia for catching an arrow meant for the enemy. Were you protecting your secret lover, or did I just suck in my archery? We'll never know.

You'd think that Bethesda would've realized how much better essential companions were in New Vegas, but no lets fuck that up amongst countless other things. Why is it that if a game has a working feature they gotta remove, to make room for what?
New Vegas was developed by Obsidian, and published by Bethesda. Skyrim was published and developed by Bethesda. that makes them TOTALLY different beasts. Knowing this, when i see someone complain about features from one not being included in the other, i just think - you fucking egg salad. do some research before you cry to the internet.

R.I.P Erandur.

You were a bad ass dark elf, and you fought valiantly to save the College. May Mara watch over you in the afterlife.

R.I.P. Erandur. He survived three dragons, two giants and three mammoths. Then he got killed by cat.

I'm the kind of guy that loads the last save if a companion dies.

So far, Lydia has been set on fire, crushed by trolls, fallen into traps, and rocked by vampires and she's still with me. I don't like soaking damage, so I use her to distract while I down stamina potions. Needless to say she dies a lot more than she probably should.

Where do you find Gary jr? I can't seem to find him.

First horse - decided to go out with glory fighting a frost troll.

I'm pretty sure at this point nobody is going to read prior posts, but this is important:

Companions are supposed to increase in stats along with you, but they don't! On PC at least, you can dismiss them, then open the console and click on them, then type Disable, then type Enable, then get them to follow you again. They will now have a ton more HP and... stuff. Good stuff.

I don't know if this happens on consoles too, but if so, hopefully a patch fixes it.

RIP Lydia to that dragon (saved when I reloaded the game, now she just sits around and drinks in my bedroom. I think she may be depressed)

RIP That mage mercenary from the bee and the barb, at the hands of a giant, whom I promptly killed in revenge and then reloaded.

Also some imperial legion dudes with no names who died getting that helmet before the stormcloaks did.

And the giants- you attacked me pointlessly one too many times, now I am pursuing genocide of your race.

P.S. I know reloading to bring them back is unethical, but Superman did it.

RIP Lucien (again). I was so happy to have you back but after a while, your incessant talking becomes too much to bear, especially when I'm trying to sneak and you announce my presence to the entire dungeon before running off ahead, and anyway even the Dragonborn likes some peace and quiet, however shouty they may be at other times.

Also a few special mentions;
RIP to all the NPCs who just seem to be dropping dead in the middle of the streets for no apparent reason.

RIP to Eorland. I wanted some smithing training off you, spent an hour looking for you, went to your house and your wife told me you'd apparently died somehow. Can't find your corpse though so she must have been in a hurry to get rid of you.

RIP to all the dragons/dragon skeletons (that I know I haven't fought myself, for they still have all their loot) that seem to enjoy falling from the sky with their great big dragon maws wide open an inch from the door I'm about to exit from and confuse the hell out of me. I guess I must have a rival pratting about out there somewhere... Bet it's a mudcrab.

You...had companions in Oblivion? Seriously?

RIP Lydia, died from reason unknown in my Whiterun house.

I tried to chop her body and hide it somewhere but it cluttered up my living room so I reanimated her body and kicked her out of the house where she turned to dust.

I am happy she didn't get blood on my floors.

Currently running around with Farkas. I heal him and he chops down everything in sight. I have Restoration at 100 but everything else at 20, tops.

I miss Boone.

Also RIP horse that flew into the sky when I dismounted. I never found your corpse.

I tried using some of the followers you get from completing the faction quests (the Adoring Fan and his kin). They'd usually end up painstakingly trying to find a way over a two-foot fence while I combated unimaginable horrors several miles away.
