Skyrim: reverse pickpocket question!

Hi!

I was wondering if you can reverse pickpocket clothes/armor on a NPC so that they'll wear it and how to best to this?

I know you can pickpocket equipped gear by getting the last Perk in the Pickpocket skill. So would replacing their equipped gear, make them wear whatever you reverse pickpocket on them?

Yea...you just give them what you want them to wear, I had feandal and he didnt have any clothes or armor that you can take from him, so whatever you give him, he just wears.

Why would you wanna give a random npc your gear?

If it is a follower you're talking about just tell them they need to carry something.
They will automatically equip the best gear you give them.

heh..just remembered how i always stuffed ticking time bombs into peoples inventories back in fallout 1...good times.

I wanted to give my spouse nice clothes (the fancy clothes) to wear since we moved to Solitude manor. And since my spouse is not a follower, I can't give her clothes.

Why would you wanna give a random npc your gear?

If it is a follower you're talking about just tell them they need to carry something.
They will automatically equip the best gear you give them.

Sometimes you want the townspeople to have more of a chance of surviving from the random dragon attack.

That is the most original answer I ever expected on -any- question ever.
Dragons die at my place, they don't get a chance to bbq someone (expert difficulty).

And even if citizens die, tough luck for them
