Sounds like an added feature that's pretty easily ignored. It could be interesting if it's not restricted to random NPCs and more focused towards actual characters, though.

I don't really see a problem with new features being added.

In fact, I've liked nearly everything I've heard about Skyrim so far. I'm very excited for it.

However, the major, MAJOR exception is the further reduction of armour slots; merging armour and greaves? What were they thinking? What if I want to have a topless Nord barbarian run around like Conan, but still have him wear trousers?

Might be good for roleplaying a certain character, meh, it's something different isn't it.

Well, the adulterated mods are going to be even more plentiful now haha

Yeah that's totally what elder scrolls was missing. A nagging wife, house chores and the medieval equivalent of an office job.

Building relationships, making friends, getting married. I'm pretty sure The Sims did it before Fable.

I think I'll actually use this feature if it's done in an immersive and compelling way. And for the love of God, if I get sick of my family and lose my mind, please please please make the kids mortal.

seems pointless but.... complaining about extra features seems even more pointless. and who knows, maybe they will implement this in a way that is actually useful.... (i doubt it though)

They're going the same way as with Fallout 3 huh... well, if they still have the extra, mostly unused slots (Body Addon 1-3) then modders will fix it. Unless you're planning to play on a console, that is. But who would want to do that?

It seems to me that they are just adding in what modders have been adding to their games for ages.

I think for people who actually bocome attached to NPC's this is a nice feature that the rest of us can ignore the fuck out of. I

really don't see how this is bad, just beause the game will share a single thing with Fable doesn't make it bad, otherwise every game with say... a protagonist, would be shit.

It looks like it can easily be ignored so i can just side step the hold thing and carry on with my dragon slaying.

As long as every character doesn't jump down your throat when you do a few missions for them then it's probably less annoying than fable 3 and easily avoided if you don't want to go there.

I think they were just trying to avoid the kind of 'outcast' feeling you got in Oblivion, that you didn't really feel like part of the society.

The npc's in fable 3 just feel like identical clones so if Skyrim's NPC's are very individualistic then it might be less irritating.

Hey man, as long as killing a dragon vs. doing the chicken dance endears me to a village, I'm down with whatever. But honestly it's in all likelihood going to be an uncanny valley clusterf*ck of epic proportions.

I think it's less a case of being like Fable and more a case of integrating features from popular mods(companion mods, relationship mods, etc.) that were done for Morrowind and Oblivion

Sounds like a fun idea with tons of potential.

And to anyone who absolutely hates the thought of being able to get married in an Elder Scrolls game: Why not just act like a complete, antisocial prick towards anyone you meet? That way, you should easily be able to explore every inch of Skyrim and never even notice the offensive feature!

This is exactly what I wanted. Imagine it, after a hard day of murdering guards and everything that looks at me funny, my Argonian character can go home and have a lovely home made meal with his Imperial wife.
/sarcasm

I don't really care.

I could see my crazed city burning dragon slaying hero settling down when I've completed everything before dlc comes out. Hopefully it will be more in depth then fable though and you have to work to get npc attracted to you. Last thing I would want is I find there missing -insert random item or pet- and they lunge at him with love.
