I've only played the beginning of Demon Souls, but the combat was too slow for the concentration it needs. I kept finding myself waiting in combat and having my thoughts wander because of that downtime. Skyrim also has slow combat, but having your thoughts wander won't kill you. I like that because it makes the game good for multitasking, where it be Pokemon breeding while playing it or watching anime. Skyrim is a really relaxing game to me, so it can't really compare to the Souls intense experience. The best part about Skyrim is the beautiful world to explore.
