Your assumption that I'm a fan of the old TES games is false in my case.

I do however look forward to Skyrim, not so much I'm going to buy it, but it is on my wishlist for my birthday next month. But what would brake the game is: It's like the old TES games. Conveluted, boring, tedious, dosen't reward exploration of the world enough, and god aweful horrible inexplainable bad voice acting.

Yeah I might get based because I didn't sink much more than 10 hours in grand total into the game. BUT I WASEN'T HAVING FUN!

There's nothing in mind that could ruin it for me, but I will be disappointed if we don't get a larger variety of dungeon types in Skyrim. I'm also kind of expecting better customisation for houses, I'd prefer to have one or two that can really be altered rather than many unchangeable ones. (Even a variety of options for the one area of a house would be nice)

From what I've seen, Elder Scrolls fans won't like Skyrim. The game has that "REACHING NEW AUDIENCES LOL!" feel to it. DA2 did the same thing and look how well that turned out.

It will suck for me. Period.

I'm just not buying it until I can get it cheap, I don't see what all the hype is about, yeah it will be good, but not as good as people make out.

I have deliberately kept my expectations for Skyrim low after building myself up for Oblivion and nearly being poleaxed by the blandness of it. So I require of Skyrim only three things: Dwemer ruins, werewolves, and a combat system where you don't just hold down block and wait to get in two quick slashes while your opponent recoils.

Look at the axe, and look at the Draugr.

Are you seriously trying to tell me that there's no hit reaction? Plus, combat does feel great, at least for me.
You mean that part that looks like it's part of a cutscene? How about you look at some NON cutscene, NON cherry picked for a trailer combat?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvgqXz35Tjs like this for example

Sliced in the neck by a sword? No reaction.

Hit by an arrow? No reaction.

Hit by multiple bursts of electrical magic? No reaction.

at 1:34? My infamous LOOK MA IM SLIDING failure of a mechanic.

The combat looks better than it does in Oblivion, but it still has plenty of shittiness for everyone.

The only thing I'm worried about is that after Fallout 3 and New Vegas it might be hard for me to settle back into the first-person melee gameplay of Elder Scrolls.

This is one of those rare games where not liking something means you can easily modify it to suit your needs.

I really cannot imagine anything will be a deal breaker for me unless the game flat out does not work, which is unlikely. Any little nitpicks I have can be modded out.

Too many dragons could ruin it for me. I want the experiance of being attacked by a dragon to be exilerating, unique and a rare occurance - I don't want it happening every 10 minutes, every time I fast travel somewhere etc or when I'm busy. So too many dragons could ruin it for me.

What I hate about Obivilion was the how every NPC looked exactly and sound exactly like each other. If Besatha fix this then I'll be cool.

Fallout-like glitches.. Constant freezes, CTD's etc.
It must be a really good and addictive game to stop me from playing it.

It will take a lot to make Skyrim suck for me, but it would be nice to be able to fight on horseback.

if it's as good as oblivion but without the broken gameplay it's enough for me
