I don't think it will suck. The biggest concern I have is with the word walls and the chance that I might run into a Dragon Shout word that is a latter part of a sequence I don't have, effectively making it worthless; for example, running across "Dah" from the "Fus Ro Dah" shout without knowing "Fus" or "Ro". Granted, this will probably be averted by having the word walls give you the next word in the sequence instead of specific words, but still, it is a bit of a concern.

Eh, I have very few deal breakers and most of those can be modded out. The only thing that will make it suck is if its so buggy its unplayable (freezes, crashes, won't start, etc). Plus I don't have ridiculously high expectations. I preordered the game months ago but its not making me go nuckin futs in anticipation like Space Marine and others did.

As long as the stealth is well done and interesting and the scale is a tad more epic than Oblivion(Seriously, the epic fight at Bruma had all of ten people...), I'll be happy.

There are a few things about Oblivion that I hated that I really don't want to see carry over to Skyrim. First of all is the levelling system and how it works with the stats. You wanna get your +5 to 3 stats? You gotta train your minor skills that you didn't pick precisely because you didn't want to train them! It's a pain in the ass to grind them up just so my character can be as strong as he can be, so I modded the hell out of that system.

Second thing, the dungeons. Oblivion, the ruins, caves, they all feel exactly the goddamn same as the others. Is it so wrong that I want a little variety in my caves? The towns are pretty well varied though.

Third thing, the combat. Why do can I only swing my sword in front of me like a pillock when my skill is 100 and I am acknowldged as the greatest master swordsman in the land? Why can't I do any thrusting attacks with it, or counter an attacking opponent for massive damage, or hell, why can't I cut an arrow down in midflight? Why are bows so damn weak? If I hit that bandit in the head with an arrow, I expect it should die pretty easily. And at higher levels they probably won't die within 5 headshots.

And finally, the friggen level scaling. What is the goddamn point of levelling if every other thing in the game is going to level with me? Why is the best way to get the best weapons and armour to rob the same goddamn bandits in the same goddamn place giving me the exact same goddamn trouble that they did 30 levels ago!? Where did they even get that stuff??? They're bandits for god's sake! It makes no sense! Why is a troll always the same difficulty for me to bring down, whether I'm a novice adventurer fresh out of prison or the most skilled practitioner of swordsmanship and magic in the world?!

If I can have these things fixed, improved upon or cut out completely then Skyrim can easily be my GotY. But if it doesn't, it can turn into the biggest disappointment and possibly worth getting a refund on.
You haven't read anything about the game, have you? I mean, most of your complaints have already been taken care of, and its been known for a while now.

Did I hit some kind of soft spot to you? Do comparisons to Dark Souls really piss you off, jeez. If the enemy AI is half as good as Dark Souls, Skyrim will be better then Oblivion.
Yeah, the comparisons do piss me off due to how many douchey DS fans have been doing it as of late. We get it, you want to seem cool by toting your OMG HARDCOAR game above the ? mainstream? pick Skyrim. Shut the hell up about it already.
...but it's ok for you to be a huge douche about TES? Sorry that I'm not sucking on Bethesda's dick and responding to the OPs question. Next time I'll send you a PM so you can decide whether my opinion is valid or not.

TES is a very bland and boring game that only redeeming factor is it's environment and pretty graphics (which isn't even well thought out, where did the food come from in Oblivion? I certainly didn't see any farmland nor livestock).
Dark Souls AI is nothing impressive actually less capable than the characters in oblivion. It is better utilized though since combat is the only thing it really has to worry bout.

And way to go being all insulting there man, TES isn't factually and impiricall bland and its ignorant and childish of you to say so, you might think it is bland and to a degree oblivion was, but thats only one game in a series of over four. It's fine to not like it but if you don't have anything interesting to say on the OP, your probably just a pesky little troll.

As to the OP if they don't have any new good quests like the dark brotherhood or if the dragons spawn all the time then I will be sad.

Some good long quests and not dungeon crawls would be nice. You know... some good quests. Not just hacky slash and spam the fire balls. God I hate fireballs.

Look at the axe, and look at the Draugr.

Are you seriously trying to tell me that there's no hit reaction? Plus, combat does feel great, at least for me.
You mean that part that looks like it's part of a cutscene? How about you look at some NON cutscene, NON cherry picked for a trailer combat?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvgqXz35Tjs like this for example

Sliced in the neck by a sword? No reaction.

Hit by an arrow? No reaction.

Hit by multiple bursts of electrical magic? No reaction.

at 1:34? My infamous LOOK MA IM SLIDING failure of a mechanic.

The combat looks better than it does in Oblivion, but it still has plenty of shittiness for everyone.
Alright one more point to this. In the 20 minute gameplay. When he kills the second wolf, he slices, it reacts then he executes it. When he is fighting the Draugrs in Bleak Falls Barrow, they react quite a bit to his blows. Even with just standard shots. God, you people with shitty complaints should pay attention. It's obviously not the copy they are releasing, of course they are making it pretty and of course they won't spam dragons or make then non-existent. Of course they are implementing some kind of reaction to being stabbed in the head. Just watch and pay attention to the news and most of your problems should be answered.

Well, in the few minutes of actual combat they had shown, I saw a few bits. So it seems logical that they wouldn't make it a one time thing. And as I said, look at the parts I said and maybe you would see it. Hey look, don't be such a prick. Just saying that they are probably going to make characters react more realistically seeing as the videos they are shown aren't the copies we are getting. They will probably make the game better then the videos we've seen. Gg.
