I probubly simply didn't find any non-human kids yet, but has anyone ever noticed that most of the child NPC's in Skyrim are from human races such as Nords? I haven't seen any Elven kids or even beast-race kids (which to some might be a shame, because Khajiit kittens sound like they might be quite adorable if you think about it).

Has anyone seen any non-human child NPC's anywhere in Skyrim? anywhere at all?

Pray tell, why would there be non-human children in Skyrim? The majority population IS human, and the handful of elves and beastmen are either lone individuals, siblings, or immigrants. Top that off with a civil war raging, one faction being fiercely against non-humans, and you can understand why Dark Elves and Khajiit wouldn't want to drag their kids along. As for Altmer, Bosmer, and Argonians, they're so rare that it's little wonder you don't see any of their children.

the mighty Argonians don't have childhood. The closest thing you could get would be some woman carrying an egg.
Anyway, most of the citizens are Nords, so if anyone wants to get married, it's probably gonna be with a Nord. I sure hop Aala the Huntress isn't carrying my half-Argonian Argonian abomination, so I'm assuming that interracial pairs can't mate. This also explains how the racial distinctions have remained constant over hundreds of years. Since every relation in Skyrim has at least one Nord, There would only be Nord children.

Unless they would have gotten better voice actors for the non human child I am happy without them. Worst child voice actors ever. Its really dam jarring to hear them say things, its like being transplanted into a kids school play. Might be cute for parents but when you are trying to play a role playing game it just sounds incredibly fake and forced. I know it is kind of a dick move to complain about it since Oblivion got picked on for lacking kids, but there HAD to have been better child actors out there.

The Argonians, Bosmer, Khajiit and Altmer I can understand, but not the Dunmer. They had to evacuate their home country because of the disasters that happened there and the invasion by the Argonians, did they just leave all their children behind to die?

OT: That's a good point, and it would have been cool to see what the other races' children would have looked like. Really though, many of them just wouldn't be seen in Skyrim. Argonians all have to grow up in Black Marsh (it's the only place with Hist trees, which are needed in their development), and I don't think it would be wise for Khajiits to bring their children with their trade caravans.

As for the other races though, you'd think you'd at least see a couple.

Solstheim was given to the Dark Elves, so they live there. That's probably where they keep their kids.

Some of the Dunmer live there, but clearly not all of them. A number of refugees are in Windhelm, and they have specifically stated that they fled there from Morrowind. It just seems very strange to me that they apparently decided not bring their kids, too. Or that they haven't produced any more kids while they've been here, there is a whole district of them after all.

"Ooh, free space. LET'S POPULATE IT!" :D

Never mind the issue of "we fled our homeland with nary a Septim to our name and can't afford another mouth to feed." >_>

Last, but not least...

They have their own pubs and homes and the like, you'd think it would have happened by now, especially since this is an approximately medieval world without contraception (unless they have enchanted condoms or something... ?).

Also, I care, at least a little. It would have been cool to see other races' children, and I am currently incredibly bored, so it's not like I have better things to do than post about irrelevant things on the internet.

To all you naysayers claiming that it's mostly a Nord land... what about the Orcish strongholds?! There should be Orc kids running amok in there.
Yeah, that's partly how I noticed there were only human children; from seeing no Orc children in those Orc tribes, which is a shame, because I love the Orcs of Tamriel.

Someone will mod them in, only a matter of time.

I'd get a real kick if someone just took the Gecko model from NV, slapped some clothes and a voice on it, and called it an Argonian child.

Yeah Orc children would have been cool. Watch them training against grown Orc men 300 style!

It didn't realy strike me as odd. To my understanding the Argonians and Khajiit are protective of children, there are few Mer about and all children of Men look alike anyway.

I suppose the only place it would be that odd is...

I didn't even notice this. But on the other hand, all the other races in the game really are presented as sort of wanderers, outcasts, and visitors. Sure, they may "live" there, but none of them are "from" there, and there's no full communities of any of those races.
