I don't know weather to make a joke about how my first thought was not to choose a weapon that would cause lasting harm or just wonder why someone would be messed up enough to make this game.

On second thought yea this is a pretty fucked up game
I am more disgusted by the use of "weather" in the place of "whether" than the concept of a slave-trader game but then again I'm a bad person and does it really take that much effort to put an h at the end of "yea".

It...it brings a sick sense of 'This is so disgusting it can't be real' that makes you want to play it and see if it's true.

Day 1 purchase, obviously.

AO, huh? Didn't even realize anyone was developing AO games anymore. What makes it AO? Just the fact that it is slavery? Hmm...

Wow. How does something like this get green lighted? And it's an Adults Only rated gamed too. I thought those kind of games died out a long time ago.
Rapelay was AO. Any game involving actual sex as a gameplay mechanic is AO. And yes they're still being made, even if you don't include the numerous flash sex games there's still "AAA" stuff being made.

Hell, there's an MMO game that allows each player to have sex acts of various kinds (they even show bondage in the trailer) with other players.
Huh. Guess I just didn't search hard enough. :p

I don't really have a problem with this game... It has the potential to be a really good game if it's well written and interesting. Though, chances are, it probably won't be if it's real.

Fake, and thank fuck for that.

Otherwise the entire Middle East and Africas would be in an infinite uproar.

Yeah, the AO rating is why I figured it was a BDSM game; a historic mercantile game wouldn't be so harshly rated just for the cargo. Furthermore, a slave-trade business management sim wouldn't need one to personally discipline their slaves. Also the whip and scourge are implements of discipline (used on a restrained subject) as opposed to the rifle and saber, used generally against armed and unrestrained foes. They wouldn't belong in the same arsenal.

Did anyone notice the 20th century handcuffs? This is looking more and more like anachronism stew.

A real slave-trade game would be about planning your ports of call, between Europe (manufactured goods) Africa (Slaves) and the Americas (Rum, Molasses, Sugar, etc.), and whether you'd sell ordinary (untrained) slaves to North America, or season them through Jamaica and then sell them in the Caribbean. In short, the part about selling slaves would be slightly more controversial than selling rum and tobacco, in that the icon on your ship's roster would be different.

No. This is a silly, silly trolling device to agitate game-haters and oppressed minorities. Hopefully, it will be outed before such groups get played.

No developer would ever make an AO game. Its a death sentience for the game. Is this game listed on the ESRB site? Because if it has been rated by now than its on there. Games arnt usually rated till several months before hand as well :p

Edit: I Looked and its not on the ESRB site :p So its fake. Also: the preview looks like its made in flash lol

Even if it is a real game, the fact that this thing is rated AO means that it won't see it's way onto consoles as the console companies don't allow AO games to be released on their systems. It'd just be a PC release.

Anyway, I don't see why people get offended by games like this. Nothing that is happening in the game is actually doing any REAL person any harm and anyone with half a brain wouldn't go out and try to imitate the slavery found in the game in real life. Anyone that did would have done something crazy sooner or later with or without the games help as something else would have most likely triggered such a bewildering reaction upon the player.

I would play it, especially if it followed the business management template, starting of with a ship and a market on the east cost and having to build yourself up from nothing until you own a fleet and have selling points all over the world. Add in an expansion where you can also start taking on farms, all the while dealing with pirates, uprisings and rivals. It's an interesting concept at least.
