About 7 Hours on Skies of Arcadia on the Gamecube.

Got from the start to getting the red crystal in one sitting.

Actually gave me insomnia, every time I closed my eyes I saw the animation for Cutlass Fury >_>

It was at a Lan party. I arrived at 6 o'clock installed everything and started playing Counterstrike until the next day about 10 o'clock. I've never drunk so many energy drinks in my life.

the longest game session that i can remember is 12 hours of Dynasty Warriors:Gundam 2. If you have ever played this game you would know how repetitive it is and i played for 12 hours straight. I can't even figure it out, I must rely like gundam

Glad to see the WoW players (presumably raiders) coming out :)

Wrath of the Lich King expansion, the grind from 70 > 80.

I had fuddled my way about with bugger all sleep since the Thursday midnight when it came out (I arranged a week off work), and it was Monday Morning, 12pm (lunchtime).

I got up after a late sunday night, and settled in to continue the grind to 80 (I was 75 at this stage).

Dungeon, dungeon, quest (x 1 billion), dungeon dungeon dungeon, next thing it;s Tuesday Night (maintenance night), 11:30pm, server goes down in 30 minutes.... and oh snap I'm like 3/4 through lvl 79.

I Quested & farmed my butt off.... with the server going down for extended post-expansion maintenance, and me 10,000XP short of lvl 80.

Then I slept... 36 hrs of grinding.... I felt like a gold farmer :(

Marathons aren't just for runners. We gamers have been known to go without basic necessary functions for a long time while playing, especially any that play MMO's. But for our purposes, let's omit them. Mostly because people have died doing those, and that's no fun.

So, what's the longest single gaming session you've ever had and what game was it that drove you to this madness?

For me, I'm kind of embarrassed to admit it, but it was when Final Fantasy 7 launched.

I skipped school for three days to finish it. The Playstation was never turned off. I only took bathroom breaks, and was right back grinding materia as soon as I flushed. I like to think that I actually flushed shows I at least had some dignity.

I ate while I played, and didn't sleep at all until I finally finished the game, after which, I crashed for another straight day.

I'm also fairly sure a party went on around me at one point, but you, as gamers, know what the only party I was concerned with was. And Cid was ALWAYS in it, if I had any say so.

The only thing that's come close since has been Just Cause 2. I've got two 13 hour sessions in so far, and I'm only 23% complete. They'd be longer if I wasn't so blasted old and require sleep about as much as I require air.

But, I digress. What about you?
with having insomnia (proper doctor diagnosed insomnia, not just shitty sleeping pattern) have had some crazy gaming sessions... I know i've done over 100 hours straight playing games... the sleep afterwards is the best though, you have the most awesome dreams!!

I'll put it this way

During the christmas break i got a few mates over and we decided to play a guitar hero tournament so they all brought they're guitars and we did duel, who could get the highest on a certain song etc.

When we decided to stop to stop our fingers falling off the sun had set and risen again.

They arrived at my house at 9am,we went to sleep at around 8am the next day

Played through the entire Orange Box in one go when I first got it.

Portal first, loved it, then was utterly blown away by HL2.

Think it took around 28-30 hours (I did stop for food and a nap though)

I am quite often up until the wee hours playing games, Just Cause 2 is the most recent offender, 30 hours in after 1 week, and that's with university and a job on the sidelines (yes, I consider the things setting up my future my sideline). I think I played Assassin's Creed II for about 12 hours straight. My crowning moment of gaming marathoning has to be playing that old chestnut Oblivion for about 20 hours straight.

Back in Fifth Class (Sixth Grade) at a sleep-over, me and my friend stayed up until Six playing a BMX stunt game which I can't remember the name of.
