Marathons aren't just for runners. We gamers have been known to go without basic necessary functions for a long time while playing, especially any that play MMO's. But for our purposes, let's omit them. Mostly because people have died doing those, and that's no fun.
So, what's the longest single gaming session you've ever had and what game was it that drove you to this madness?
For me, I'm kind of embarrassed to admit it, but it was when Final Fantasy 7 launched.
I skipped school for three days to finish it. The Playstation was never turned off. I only took bathroom breaks, and was right back grinding materia as soon as I flushed. I like to think that I actually flushed shows I at least had some dignity.
I ate while I played, and didn't sleep at all until I finally finished the game, after which, I crashed for another straight day.
I'm also fairly sure a party went on around me at one point, but you, as gamers, know what the only party I was concerned with was. And Cid was ALWAYS in it, if I had any say so.
The only thing that's come close since has been Just Cause 2. I've got two 13 hour sessions in so far, and I'm only 23% complete. They'd be longer if I wasn't so blasted old and require sleep about as much as I require air.
But, I digress. What about you?
