If you could somehow get your sleep removed, and have zero negative affects, would you do it?

I would, more time to do things.

It depends.

If I am no longer fatigued, that simply sitting around rested me, then I would totally do it. Especially if I retained the ability to still sleep. Plus, don't we spend like, 1/3 of our life asleep?

But if it was as simple as no longer falling unconscious due to overwork, then no chance in hell. That'd be an eternal torture.

I wouldn't.
Why? I'd be here 24/7.
It'd be my free and legal drug.

No, I like sleep. Especially when I actually remember my dreams.
Pretty much this, it's my, well, dream to have an awesome ongoing action series with my favorite fictional characters in my dreams.

Of course, there is a way to shorten the amount of time you need to sleep [http://www.cracked.com/article/127_5-ways-to-hack-your-brain-into-awesomeness/].

Yes

That's pretty much all I can think to add to this thread.

In all honesty I'm not really sure. Sleep serves as a past time for me when I get way too bored and I wouldn't have that lengthy past time anymore. However I'd definitely go for it if my friends also had their sleep removed without any negative effects, it'd be terribly boring being the only one although some find bliss in solitude. Each to his own I guess.

Hell yea, I'd have loads of free time and most of the time I don't get enough sleep anyway so I'm always so fatigued, if I could get rid of fatigue and not have to sleep, that would just be quality.

Without a doubt, YES.

I'd conduct research. Pick up some new hobbies (more instruments for example). And once I was bored i'd hop on some games and become a gamer of legend. =] If people didn't need sleep, we'd have cures for far more diseases by now.

Why not? If you live to be ninety, then the average person would effectively extend their life span thirty years. As much as I love sleep, I'd have to go for it.

Pardon my skepticism...but your username sounds quite a bit like a benzodiazepine used for sleep...and you're making a thread about sleep...with an OP that can almost be taken as a backward sales pitch of sorts. I mean, I know it's not an advert, but still.

On topic: Oh Hell no. I want my sleep. I love dreams, and just love sleeping. If I could turn a paycheck simply by sleeping, that would be my job.

I'd prefer to keep my sleep, atleast you can switch off for a while and think bollox to everything else, and drift off into your own dreams.

Its peaceful , i'd just get iritated and bored if i was up 24/7.

Considering you said zero negative affects, I'd do it for sure.
This. I don't know how much I can add to this post. Um...

Oh yeah. I dislike sleep anyway. Most of the time I wake up feeling truly shitty, and said shitty feeling takes about an hour to pass.

Damn allergies.

I don't know, sure having 24/7 of the day to use would be perfect, but then again I look forward to sleep because it marks the moment of rest after a long day.

It is almost the same as whether we could live forever. It feels like death to me, sooner or later we will be dead, and we can finally rest in peace.
