I found a study of chronic insomnia sufferers and testing various treatments. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy seemed to be the best (especially when coupled with pills).
Here is what you do:
1. Only use your bedroom (wherever the room you sleep is) for sleeping and sex.
2. Wake up and get out of bed at the same time every day
3. Only go to bed when sleepy
4. If you can't fall asleep in 20 minutes, get up and go to a different room until sleepy again
