Heck, I'm not allowed to have same-sex sleep overs because my mom thinks it contributes to homosexuality.

Mixed sex though....she doesn't care.

To me, it depends on what the people are like. I don't think parents should care about what the gender of the person sleeping over is, but rather, what they're bringing (ie. Drugs...alcohol..) and if they seem like the kind of person with the intentions of doing something.

Never been to one because I'm not allowed. I mean, I could understand if you were sleeping over with just one guy and one girl and even then it's a little silly, but what do they expect to happen? I would think that a parent should trust their children enough to let them do something like sleepovers.

I think we should completely an utterly stop entertaining the idea that the government or some would be do-gooder mum should have the final say in what we do as parents!

Although I think the book of common sense needs re-writing for some, for the most part I don't think there is anything wrong with sleepovers as long as it isn't being held in like the parent's bedroom or something.

When anyone asks the question, what's the worst that could happen? You get all kinds of crazy theories. But the pure chances of these things happening make it illogical to prevent it on the basis that it'd has or could happen.

I've gone to sleepovers of a mixed nature, and nothing major has actually happened there.

Parents are more paranoid these days of what /could/ happen because the media has overhyped the consequences of such activities.

Well nothings wrong with crashing a girls sleepover in the middle of the night. I fully recommend it, once in a while you get a group that wants to play grabby.

I blame wild and crazy hormones. Now everyone thinks we can't keep it in our pants and we are just going to wind up getting people pregnant.
A shame, but you must admit, there may be some truth to it

Not at that age... probably 18 was the first time something like that ever happened? But by then everyone has grown up anyway and it doesn't matter. Some parents can be overly paranoid about little things like this, but I never had them anyway so it didn't really matter.

Go on.

OT: I've never gone to any sleepovers in my life before, because that's what attracts mask-wearing axe murderers.

Hell I've been to full on parties, where people got drunk and passed out and still had nothing happen to them.

Conservative/Republican parents are over-reacting again.

Um...I've had one. After prom, all my friends (including one girl) went over to her house and slept over. No nothing happened. Well....she fell off the bed, that was funny was hell, but nothing SINFUL!! God, crazy mothers and their overboard instinct to protect everything that is frowned upon by Nancy Reagon.

I'm staying at my girlfriends place tonight.

Hopefully it will be yes to all ~.^

But really, apart from my girlfriends I haven't had many (if any) mixed sleepovers, I never had that many female friends.

EDIT: I just remembered this party I went to where all the other guys but me pulled out, so it was me and 7 girls, myself and most of them stayed the night.. It wasn't as good as you would all think it was haha.. I landed in the friend zone with most of them..

"Lachlan are my boobs to big? Feel them?" "...Kay! Nahh they are fine" "You're a rad friend!" "Damn =(

Mixed gender sleepovers? When I was young enough to have them, I thought girls were icky. When I was old enough to like girls and still have sleepovers, I wasn't close enough friends with any girl to spend the night at their house or vice versa.

There are no sleepovers now, unless you count crashing at someone else's place.

I've never had a "sleepover" with both sexes, but that's partially because I didn't really hang out with any girls when I was younger. And women passing out at a party of mine don't really count.

As for the issue, I do see the point of view of those who are uncomfortable with the idea. They can see that children are becoming more exposed to sexuality at an earlier age (to the point where I know of like 11-12 year olds who are sexually active/whores). They worry that they can't safely monitor their precious babies, and so don't want to create/allow a situation where bad things could happen. However, they need to know to cut the chord. Take the bubble wrap off your kids, and give them a chance to be kids.

I've been to a few, some of them where I was the main boy.
Apparently I'm a charmer as well, as the majority of them ended up with someone snuggling up to me at night.
