Slender doesn't scare me.

So if anyone doesn't know, Slender is a new free-to-download horror game designed after the internet legend "Slenderman" who was designed by none-other-than 4Chan. Everywhere I go recently, especially from friends, I'm told it's the scariest game ever and that it's utterly terrifying and makes you shit your pants.

I played it. I wasn't scared at all, and I'm pretty easy to get jumped. The game just wasn't terrifying. Yeah, Slender in theory is a terrifying idea but the game didn't really make him terrifying to me. Just some guy with no face following me and taking my notes. Am I in the wrong or does anyone else feel this way? The game doesn't have much depth, it's pretty easy to run in my opinion and it won't take long for you to get an opinion of it if you haven't right now.

Yup, not everybody is scared easy, or by most things. You are one of them, and that's okay.

Also, Slendys from a Something Awful thread, not 4chan. 4chan did a lot to popularize him, though.

Yeah, I checked right after I posted. Thanks for clarrifying. When I was introduced to him, I was told he was from 4Chan so I was going off of memory.

But yeah, I just felt like getting that out. I just keep hearing over and over "THIS IS SO SCARY." And then I got about it and I'm not even the slightest bit terrified...

I don't think it's scary... Watching other people play it. I haven't played it myself...

Although when I do I'll just think if this video.

I think there could be a lot of meat in a Slender man game.. but Slender as it exists seems more of a proof of concept or school project than an actual game, and that's where I find it to be lacking in fear factor. If I don't care about my character or the environment I'm in, and there's nothing going on but collecting notes that have been stuck on various surfaces, all that's left is a very gamey sense of tension.
