I'll remember Canada by trekking through the snowy mountains, saying "eh" every few minutes.

Mudcrabs have been confirmed for Skyrim; there's pictures of them.

Anyway, doesn't "slight rage" seem like a bit of an oxymoron?

You get a day off?
Serious?

Now let's put this into perspective...

Canada: 7.2 injured, 64,976 died.
UK: 45.4 injured, 886,939 died.

Something seems a tad 'off' there...
Anyway: Deal with it dude.

I should probably say that all these deaths were terrible... but a day off?
Really?
Either that or we're missing a trick here.

Since when is Remembrance Day a public holiday? I have no recollection of it ever being so before.

EDIT: Apparently it's not in Ontario :p

I know how you feel, but I'm happy (ish) about Rememberance Day as I'm military (reserves, but I don't get a holiday) and my stepdad is a veteran, so I take great pride on that day. I almost always cry too...

Sorry, tangent over. Anyways, I preordered it and I'm getting it on Saturday instead. It's a little annoying, but I can live with it.

Gamestop (in the U.S.) is open every day of the year.

Thank you Gamestop.

EDIT: I feel bad for you OP, I will dedicate my first mudcrab kill to you. Assuming there will be mudcrabs...

Can mudcrabs survive the harsh climates of Skyrim? Has the Mad God Sheogorath cast some sort of spell eliminating them from the Nordic like races habitat? Did that crazy Argonian Hunter slaughter then all? Find out in 'Skycrab: Mud's Odyssey.' Coming this week to a game console near you!

OT: Shame for you OP
Its not a holiday here though so go me.

We actually don't get a day off. Federal and Military get the day off. Most stores have shortened hours, but that's it. Students still go to school, even if they're reserves (like me), and most people still go to work. All that's asked is a moment of silence at 11:00.

And you know why the death toll in the UK was much higher? You had a much bigger population than us to begin with. I'm not going to argue strategies, and who did what; you guys lost more people than us. Yes it sucks, but you can think of it this way: "We controlled the oceans."

Can't you but off of steam? I don't really know how steam works for other countries but I would doubt that websites close down for Canada's holiday.

November 11th is Veterans' Day here in the States. Surprised no one has mentioned that yet.

Gamestop is open, though...so I will be honoring our Vets with a marathon of Skyrim.

If you're getting it on PC, you may as well get it over Steam. The game uses Steamworks protection, so even if by chance you were to get it a day early, you wouldn't be able to play it due to the time restriction.

I'm holding you to that! I expect you to email a link (unless this is against this sites rules then I'll just see it in the usual Bethesda place) to a mod you've made fitting this description. A joke on your part? Mine too! But if you do it you win double points.

OT: In the USA, holidays only affect the government and postal services. Military still does their thing, and the only stores affected are ones whose corporate owners decide the stores should be closed, which isn't many.

One of the Gamestops near me is doing a midnight opening even, so I'll be having dinner at the restaurant across the street until 11:30pm, then I'll go wait in line so when Gamestop opens at 12:00AM I can get it and walk home. All I have to do is give them my phone number, be handed the game, and leave.

BUT there's a good thing to having to wait an extra day. I'll give you my personal review around 6am GMT-8 (pacific) 11 11 11, so if it sucks, or is great, you'll get to hear it not just from me, but many others I'd expect.

So, I live in The Great White North (Canada)and am eagerly awaiting Skyrim.I was going to get it day one because of how much I wanted it. However, an unfortunate circumstance is preventing me from doing just that.

Turns out, Novenber 11th is also Rememberance Day, a national holiday here in Canada, where we celebrate the sacrifice of our armed forces, both past and present. And since it's a national holiday, no stores are open, therefore, no Skyrim yet.

This really is a minor inconvinience, as I am more than willing to wait an extra day, however I feel kind of angry that everyone else on the planet is going to be playing and saying how great the game is (I assume), while I have to sit at home with my thumbs up my ass.

So, for discussion value, how do some of my fellow canadians feel about this? Does it affect you, or do you buy from digital distribution (Steam etc.)? And for everyone else, have you ever had a situation where a holiday or any other situation really, has stopped you from buying a game temporarily?
I'm also a Canadian and the store I'm going to is having a midnight launch which is technically the day before, might want to check and see if your store is doing that as well.

I live in BC so it may affect my ability to pick it up, or not, I don't know. But if it does I don't really mind waiting a day. Besides, stat holidays are great: getting paid by my employer for NOT working is always nice :D
