Slipknot...?

Opinions on Slipknot? Love 'em? Hate 'em?
For me, they only made one truly awesome album, and that was Iowa. Self-titled was above-average, and Subliminal Verses and All Hope Is Gone were...bearable I guess (with some awesome high points)

FYI, I used to be a so-called "maggot" until I listened to their entire discography and realized that the majority of their work is just decent with the exception of a few great songs (most of them off of Iowa).
So, thoughts?

Actually i think the sbliminal verse and all hope is gone kinda resemble 80's metal songs. especially before i forget.

They're okay. I agree that Iowa was pretty good but I did like Subliminal Verses. The more variety of music I listen to though, the less I like Slipknot.

I used to like them. Now though I find myself almost being sick whenever I hear their music.. No offense to any fans out there.

I like Slipknot, not the best band in the world (Metallica *cough cough) but they have some pretty sweet songs.
I dont listen to the often (I used to) but one of my favorate songs is "The Shape" from Iowa.

Iowa is my favorite album by them.Slipknot in second place.All Hope Is Gone in third.Vol.3 The Subliminal Verse in fourth.
Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat can go fuck itself.

And I love them.I wish Paul Gray din´t die.I never got a chance to see them live.

Slipknot isn't all that good. But I give props to Corey Taylor thier singer. He is better off singing in Stone Sour. The only song I can stand from Slipknot is when they sang with Soulfly.....(PS Slipknot also copied Mushroomhead on the whole masks thing)

Absolutely awful in my opinion. The epitome of stylised metal pandering to the teenage try-hard metalhead demographic.

Not that everyone who listens to them is a try-hard metalhead, simply that in my opinion they never have seemed genuine, instead seeming to just try and slot into that crowd to make a buck, besides this they seem to me to be rather musically poor.

I will say that it's not like I view it as a crime to like slipknot, if you like the music you like the music, but respect and liking the band are not the same thing, I personally both dislike the band and don't respect them, as for me personally they fail both on a music level and an artistic integrity level.

i really dont like them. not one of the like 20 band members!

i heard their bassist dies, but he prob just died and gave birth too two more bassists like simiell did on hellboy... so now slip not can have 2 bass notes!
