I like them...kinda. I mean, some of their songs I'll listen to but, other songs, I will just skip over.

Since we are discussing Slipknot, I feel this is appropriate.
Honestly, I don't know much about Slipknot. From what I've heard, they are okay.

I like 'em. I think Subliminal Verses was a bit of a flop with just a few good tracks in it, but I think All Hope Is Gone is an amazing album, really brilliant
Their self-titled is also really good, and I actually have not heard a single song from Iowa, but it sounds like I should, so I shall!

I thought they were okay at first, but it was only because I was seriously beginning to like the metal genre. The more diverse the metal I listened to, the more I realized Slipknot sucked. Primarily my opinion.

Ok then, please explain to me what you consider musical genious?
Lady GaGa? JLS? Lil Wayne? What?
King Crimson.

EDIT: Gorguts,Neurosis,Cynic.
Ok I'm going to level with you, I have never even heard of them, so yeah they must be awesome!
Not to say that whatever I haven't heard of isn't good.

My idea of genious would be Matt Bellamy, Tim Mcilrath, Corey Taylor and Mike Shinoda most of all!
Not all genius has to be from rock/metal/whatever genre they are, some of the best lyrics i've heard have been in rap/hip hop, i've also heard great rappers collaborating with rock musicians and its been awesome but its the general closed-mindedness that dumbfounds me, the mentality that if you don't like Slipknot you must like whatever craps being pumped out on the radio at the moment pisses me off
And before you assume any aforementioned rap is Lil' Wayne or Jay-Z/Linkin park shite then i ask you to at least give some groups like Atmosphere a listen

OT: I didn't mind listening to them in small doses before, but after all the tryhard emo kids would constantly tell me to listen to so and so screaming shit i felt it was in my best interests to stop the bleeding in my ears

I liked them when I was an angry teen that knew everything about everything. I don't like where their music went, though I respect them for letting their sound grow along with them.

They're just not for me anymore. I've out-grown them, but I'll never say I never liked them.

When he put that hat on, I nearly died.

I always found them to be a sort of gateway band. You listen to them when your in your early to mid teens then move onto ther stuff from there. I listened to them when I was younger then my tastes sorta evolved to what it is now.

Their bassist died.
Up until that point, I was neutral toward them. Now, I remind slipknot fans that he's dead every time I get the chance.

If I'm in the mood I listen to them, but it doesn't occur that often. Iowa is my favorite.
Liked to listen to them a few years ago, but my horizon grew and my urge to listen to them shrinked.

I got a big laugh out of "Choose a Username"'s posts, so much fail.

I think their best album was Vol 3 : The subliminal Verses. The drums just carried the whole album to be honest

"Everywhere I go there's a centipede!". Ha!

Despite liking that song, that video was hilarious.

QFT, although my gateway bands were far more embarrassing - Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit were where it was at. Don't worry, I've moved on.
OT: I wouldn't listen to them by myself, but I hear they did a great live show. Shame they've broken up now, or whatever. Did anyone ever find out how their bassist died?

That describes my experiences in listening to Slipknot. I didn't like their self titled album or All Hope Is Gone. I used to listen to them all the time, but I've moved on to other bands. Every once in a while I'll listen to Subliminal Verses; otherwise I don't really isten to them much anymore.
