Slow Metal

Im looking for music to add to my collection that is the slow kind of metal, similar to the song Psychosocial by Slipknot if you've heard it, its just really heavy but doesnt fly off the handle with solo's. Have any ideas, and while were on the topic, what is your favorite metal band?

Try putting that song in on Pandora and see where it takes you. I have always had a good experience with Pandora.

But I doubt you mean quite that slow, from the context.

Electric Wizard might be a good place to start, especially Dopethrone.

or Soundgarden (not really metal, but heavy and good)
you could also try some doom or stoner metal because thats usually mellow
