Somewhere, that dad that told the reporters that the reason why his son took a gun to school was because of Minecraft, will be looking at this and laughing and telling everyone that he was right all along. But he is still a bad parent.

I remember in the YouTube video that I watched people were saying that its pretty ironic how they want to ban Minecraft for violence against women, yet they supposedly have a high rate of abuse against women in Turkey. I wonder if that's true. Anyone from Turkey on the Escapist?

I don't know about abuse but when on holiday there the attitude towards women seemed pretty sickening to me which could have just been culture shock, but men would constantly come up to me asking to buy my sister. One guy getting pretty angry when SHE said no not me.

I asked the hotel staff and apparently it's quite normal there especially when it comes to blonde tourists as they are very uncommon and sought after.

As far as I know, the situation in Turkey is tumultuous, politics-wise.

Things haven't improved since the protests, and the prime minister continues to take liberties with public property and the people.

So if this is being used as a smoke-screen, I wouldn't be too surprised. Politicians, especially those incompetent or corrupt reach for easy targets whenever their approvals begin to go down, see: David Cameron and The Internet(not that I am comparing either situation: what is going on in Turkey is way worse than Cameron wanting to censor pornography, but it's the way that both situations are employing smoke screen tactics that shows similarity).
