Weapons that arent in their holsters/scabbard/whatever.. IT just really annoys me when weapons just kinda hovers two inches off your back or waist..
Better than weapons that completely disappear. Your character moves the gun towards his hip or back, like he's going to holster it ... then it just vanishes.
Not really, then I can imagine him tucking it away somewhere. Better than telephatic abilities.

Dead Island: Been enjoying this game a lot and while it's not the prettiest whore under the bridge, the graphics are serviceable. I can ignore the low-res textures and shadows and pop-ins, but what I can't ignore is the awful glass-breaking animation. No matter where you hit the entire glass just disintegrates into nothing. I just noticed it awhile ago and spent almost 15 minutes obsessing over it and had to turn off the game and am going to take a break from the game and try and forget it but I don't think I'll be able to now.

Crysis 2: You know how in the multiplayer you can see your character model between matches? Well after my first few I noticed the but of the gun he was holding was clipping into his chest/shoulder. For a game that was suppose to be all about the graphics you'd think someone on the dev team would say something about it. After awhile it's all I would notice. Eventually I sold the game. Not because of that though, because the I just got sick of the game.
I'm annoyed that the OP finds these things annoying, considering that dead island is probably the upper paradigm of graphics, and that clipping is something that occurs in about 90% of games, so it's clear that the technology doesn't exist to prevent clipping in some more of the more collision detection dependant sort of games.

The most annoying thing about recent games is the loading times. I also hate how in starcraft 2 and eve online, the cursor and buttons feel a bit 'rusty' and not as smooth as I'd like. I turned off the 'mouse lag' in sc2, but there's still no smoothness. That's annoying to me. It means I actually have to think that much more just to not miss-click a button, in a game that's all about clicking buttons with your mouse.

The game gets MUCH better after you get out of the Middle East. Stick with it!

He's right in that it gets better, but that's not saying much. If your problems rest with the uninteresting plot, bland dialogue, amateur level design, a camera that will swing anywhere and everywhere when all you're doing is running down a corridor, and poor accommodation for any play style other than "shoot everything" (even though direct combat is shit), then I'd just give up.

The only worthy thing about the game is how malleable the plot is, which you probably won't even notice because the thought of playing it through again gives you a headache.

OT: I remember in Jedi Academy, I could never face picking a double-bladed lightsabre, because the running animation made it look as if Jaden had shit himself.

Infamous 2: by the end everyone had rocket launchers or just annoying ice powers and the rockets were one hit kill for a direct hit which could be kinda annoying as u cant track everyone...

Similar problem with prototype but also with tanks, not that they killed me as much, more the fact they turned up and sent me flying/knocked me off walls when i was trying to do other stuff like collect stuff or kill infected.

Oh and games that take too long to get going or anywhere, given up on a handful of games cause of this.

Otherwise as a general thing, cheap enemies, downright unfair traps or ambushes, glitches that dlc fixes but probably could have been fixed before release and games that take ages to flaming load!

Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. Spencer's bionic arm.
For those not in the know, Spencer has a big-ass robotic left arm. Which is fine. But then you go on the other side of your opponent and his robot arm magically switches to be his right.
I know it'd be tricky to make all the animations work regardless of side, but still. We using 3D models these days, not sprites.

Two things, both in Mass Effect 2.

1: Grenades. In the first you could have X grenades no matter what specialization you chose, no matter what level, no matter what. You could always have grenades and you can always use grenades. You could also upgrade them and they were fun and easy to use! Not in Mass Effect 2 though. In ME2 you had to have a certain specialization to use certain types of grenades or any grenade at all.

B: Ammunition. In the first all guns had unlimited ammunition. The only limit you had was based on weapon heat. Lay on the trigger too long and your shotgun, AR, pistol or, sniper will beep at you until the weapon cools. Not a real problem unless you're using explosive or, incineration rounds. Mass Effect 2 uses special weapons like Nuke Launchers and, refrigeration guns. Of course those couldn't have unlimited ammo but why did Bioware take away the unlimited ammo from EVERY gun?! I hated that and I hope Mass Effect 3 fixes both of those issues.

Them kids and their dang-darn flying machines!

Oh, right, video game annoyances, that's what this one is about. Just Cause 2. A gltich where all the people and vehicles vanish from the game world except the goverment soldiers and their rides. It takes so much away from the game!

View distance and object pop-ins.

What the hell is with view distance and object fading sliders that work but don't go high enough, but ...
It's not 2008 anymore.
People have more than 512 MB RAM.

Stuff should never noticeably appear out of nowhere as you walk forwards.
It's just ridiculous.

The orks in Space Marine constantly calling you a "space marine". it got annoying after the umpteenth time it was uttered. Would have preferred it if they chucked in the odd utterance of "crump dat beakie"
It must've been a sound bug, but I kept hearing ork battlecries right next to my ear... only to need to trudge forward for ten seconds before actually seeing them...

OT: Most Bioware games that use synthetic languages... conversations with them just cycle through the same three fucking garbled lines...
