What are some of the small things in games that didn't overly change the game, but you were still really glad the developers put them in.

The one I have in mind was Leonardo Da Vinchi as a minor character in AC2. Not overal different to the game, but I still think it was a really awsome person to put in.

The cellphone in No More Heroes. The grand total time that function was used was about 2-3 minutes, but it was so good.

The metoer in Dragon Age.

If you don't know there a random event where a metoerite crashes and you see an elderly farming couple standing next to it marveling that there is a baby inside and thanking the maker for answering their prayers for a child (Sound familiar). Anyways you also get some meteor ore which I still haven't found out what to do with.

Also the Pacman cheese in Bioshock. I just love how subtle it was.

The ability to aim down your sights since the first Call Of Duty.

Because before that to aim, you simply squinted. Rather than using the perfectly functional iron sights on the weapons.
It could always be like left for dead and deem anything without a scope harmful and dangerous to put close to your face.

On Topic: Mapmakers. I love mapmakers and level editors.

The Elcor in ME. They didn't really play a huge part in the story, but I really liked them.

All the "Irritated" sounds that units in WarCrafts II and III and StarCraft make when harassed. It really added a unique character to the Craft games and I find myself clicking units multiple times in other RTSes hoping for some funny quip.

The level editor in AoE II, I have spent so many hours making levels on that thing.

I just finished making a map of north Italy with a war between Venice, Milan, Bologna, and Genoa; I made it as accurate as possible.

The graffiti in the safe rooms of L4D 1 + 2. Not really needed and nothing particularly special...but it's a nice touch and fun to read...on one occasion it was actually helpful.

This a million times over. There are just so many good ones.
And another for starcraft, the radio zerg song

I just love it so

100% agree on this. The first time I ever got a new class I spent a good long time harassing the hell out of them.

OT: Raving Rabbids 2 for the wii. (suck it, it's funny) There's a game where you talk on a cell phone in a theater. When you put the remote to your ear you can actually hear the rabbid yapping away. Not needed but had us rolling for a good long while.

In Mirrors Edge, the stealthy as shit loading screen. For those that don't know, there are segments in which you have to travel by elevator. The scenes are boring and slightly frustrating. Until you realize its the damn loading screen. I'm not sure why, but I thought it was the neatest thing.

The Pip-boy Light in Fallout 3. Damn DC tunnels were a *****, until I accidentally held down Tab and figured out that I have a lantern of sorts.
