The game is great. Not perfect, but great. I don't really like the new stages, a lot of the stuff is boring (The bomb mini game) or overly frustrating (walk-offs and SD's in All-Star) but overall it's a great game. The speed is a mix between Brawl and Melee, which is great. There are many different plays tykes for each character, and the clones only add to those play styles. The roster overall is good, but with some terrible cuts, and missed characters, there's something to be desired.

My main is Yoshi. Yoshi is a complete boss. Great combos, excellent aerials, and decent KO potential. With dair you can do 32%! Disgusting. I already have 10 hours in For Glory. Soooo much fun. Only problem seems to be a lack of good players, but hopefully they'll get better. Replays are improved 10 fold, so I have a bunch of video of my great matches, and hilarious moments. Playing with friends online with a stable connection is literally a dream come true. However, they could've made the online mode much better, like some sort of in-game friending, or rival sort of thing, or online smash run, 2v2's without times matches, and not 4 player free for all For Fun (although I only did it once or twice, seriously wtf.)

It is a enjoyable game. I would have love if there was less Brawl in the game, but so far I am enjoying it. Mostly because of the characters. I play Ganondorf on Project M, so he is quick pick in Smash 4 and I really like Robin. He has a lot of stuff, so it will take awhile before I can consider him a solid pick.

I would love some more and other options. I find it weird to stay in a lobby in for glory one vs one, but that has probably to do with that I am used to Ranked matches in other Fighting games.

The biggest issue I have is that killing someone is too hard. I see people getting smashed out of the screen, but still they live. This makes the game less satisfying for me to play.

I been playing it a lot my only gripe is the stages, sometimes the camera pans out WAY too much and you can't see what's going on, also the Mii characters are terribly broken and over powered. Other than that everything is awesome and really fun, I never thought Smash would work on a portable but now that I've played it I see how wrong I was

as for mains, Zero Suit Samus is the most fun to use, dive kick into rocket boots is such an easy and strong combination that it almost feels like cheating. Lucina is my second main, she's essentially Marth with a bit more strength and a counter that's straight out of hell, hands down the best counter move in the game, and finally Lucario, he's not as good as he was in Brawl but he's my favorite Pokemon so I can't help but use him every few matches

BTW, has anybody figured any good strategies against Palutena? She's such a well rounded character that projectile fighters can't compete and close range fighters are decimated before they can get close to her. The only character I've managed to beat her with is ZSS and even then I had a really hard time :(

Thoughts?

Fun. Very fun. Definitely a step up from Brawl, and I'm looking forward to the console release. Also, Mii fighters are a ton of fun, as I hoped they would be. :D

I'm also glad most of the stages are pretty decent with very few chepa stage hazards (Megaman's Yellow Devil and Magicant's flying men notwithstanding). It's refreshing to be able to pick "Random stage" every time and never want to instantly ragequit due to getting a crappy stage.

Also, the secret boss at high intensities is absolutely sickening. So many forms. So many hard-to-dodge moves, so MANY LAUNCH MOVES. ;_;

Mains?

Palutena. Why? Because so many people whined that she was "low tier trash useless char of the years hurr durr" that I decided to accept the challenge. She's actually pretty good, just...different. She plays super defensive, and is all about forcing the enemy to make mistakes that you can punish. I really like playing her, but I just with her normal B special (autoreticle) was a bit more reliable. If the enemy is dodging as I use it, it doesn't even come out. :(

Secondary main is Shulk, because I seem to like overcomplicated low tier characters. XD

Surprisingly, I seem to have dropped Sonic, who was my main last time, even though he's gotten MAJOR buffs this time around. ...I really DO seem to like taking the underdog characters. :p

To BEAT Palutena?

Dodge roll a lot. autoreticle will miss a lot.

As a palutena main, I will tell you honestly, she is a "bait and punish" character. Force HER to make mistakes. If she whiffs a smash attack, she leaves herself WIDE open.

Also, ZSS hard counters her. I learned that the hard way before class today. ZSS's side b goes RIGHT THROUGH HER GODDAMN REFLECT WALL. ;_;

It's pretty good, but I am still playing more Hyrule Warriors than anything else right now. As a lot of people have been saying, it's a nice little preview for the main event later this year. As enjoyable as it is the controls are limiting and of the 100 or so online matches I have played so far 80% of them have had a fair to extreme amount of lag. I am not sure if it's other people's connections or the servers, but this is one of the laggiest multiplayer games I have played in a long time. It is really frustrating and makes me not want to 1v1 if I'm just going to be rolling blindly against 2 second input lag the whole time.

As for who I am maining... currently I am best at Lucina, Samus, Zelda and Robin.

IT GOES THROUGH IT!!!! 0___0
I didn't know that and since I'm maining ZSS I'm going to punish this SO much, dude this is like critical info! My biggest problem still lies with I think it's the standard B smash, because if you double jump while being hit it eats that second jump and you won't even notice it until it's too late

Same here actually. I don't know, I mean I like Smash, but the controls on the 3DS just don't do well for me. As for Hyrule Warriors, I'm just trying to get everything so then I can unlock the Master Sword's hidden ability. But that requires you to get literally everything in the game, and all the Level 3 weapons for all Warriors.

As for mains, so far I'm excellent with Pacman, Captain Falcon, and Ganondorf. For a custom Ganondorf I increased his speed and defense, so when I play with friends they know to run when I bring him out. >:3

I am just not having nearly as much fun with the online as I hoped I would. The near constant 1/2 second input lag is KILLING all the fun I could have. It just makes it frustrating.

Agreed. Any lag in a fighting game can and will kill any fun with it. Let's hope that the Wii U version has more stable online, otherwise it will be a repeat of last generation in which Mario Kart was the stable online, while Smash Bros was a pathetic joke for it.

I'm loving it to death and I'm just scratching the surface of it. I haven't even played certain modes and only completed classic mode once. All of the characters haven't been unlocked either.

Keep in mind that I don't play competitively so take it as you will.
So far I love the new Bowser and the new Kirby so very much. They were my favorites in Melee and I like the simple improvements like Bowser's increased speed and Kirby moving while changing his hammer.

As far as new comers go Greninja has the nerve to be very good and I'm pretty good with him. I hate the way he looks, I still think he's a hella ugly pokemon, but I love his speed and specials.

I still really love the Villager, I love how tricky he is to handle and I like his recovery.

I'm sad to say that Wii Fitt Trainer isn't as awesome as I want her to be, or rather, I'm not as good with her as I want to be. Her reach is just too short for my liking.

Palutena is way too defensive for me to like her, I like to hit fast or at least hard.

Robin is also fun, but I think I make way too many errors for me to use her effectively.

Time will tell about how much I feel about the rest of them (or if I change my mind about any of these).

I am loving this game so very goddamn much. I think I have already spent more time with it online than I have any other game I have ever owned. The biggest problem I have is the stupid circle pad. I swear it misinterprets my up B's as side B's on purpose just to fuck with me.

So far, I'm switching between maining Sheik, just like I do in Hyrule Warriors, and Donkey Kong, who I hope is DLC for Hyrule Warriors, depending on whether I feel like playing a heavy character or not. I'm also really digging the Mii figters, just wish there was an easier way to unlock costumes for them outside of Classic's roulette.

EDIT: Also, I just wanted to say that it blew my mind when I found out the trophies you get for beating classic mode are the amiibo figures. That is so cool.

I have to take that game in small doses. I get angry at it in less than 40 minutes.

My mains are Bowser, Charizard, Duck Hunt, and Lucario.

Pikachu- who has been my main since Melee has gone to the wayside. Now that more characters to my liking have improved greatly in balance I want some fresh flavors.

Hoping Bowser Jr. can be my main too. (I have yet to unlock him and the koopalings.)
