I have a series of questions for smokers:

1.How can you live with yourself?(well, more like how do you feel about smoking) <<--- Edited because people hate the way I said it.
1.How do you feel about it being dangerous for your health?
2.How did you feel the first time you tried? (I tried it once, thank god it made me sick and I'm never touching the stuff)
3.Ever tried a cigar? What's so special about it?

1. I don't care about smoking.
2. I don't smoke, therefore reasons my above answer.
3. No. It's about the image.

1. Depends what you consider a smoker. If its someone who is truly a social smoker (I smoke once a month at most, and only if I am at some sort of gathering) then I don't see a problem with it. All things in moderation etc.

2. I was half drunk the first time I tried it so I never really noticed the effects like most people do.

3. I only ever smoke cigars or a pipe if someone has it. To me it just feels better. I do it so rarely that I figure I may as well use the good stuff too.

1. I can live with myself very nicely. Then again, being a magnificent bastard who only lives to fulfill his own desires makes easy livin' easy. No, just kidding. But I felt I had to make such a comment in response to your loaded 'HOW CAN YOU LIVE WITH YOURSELF?!?!' phrase. How do I care about smoking? I don't. I like it, and I tend to enjoy the company of smokers. Probably because they tend to be free of any poles stuck up their collective arses.

2. Probably buzzed. Quite likely already drunk. How should I know? I'm not a person with the unhealthy habit to fondly remember "first times".

3. Most certainly. It's the taste that matters. Cigars are not ment to be smoked 'over the longues'.

1.Well honestly I like the feeling it gives me even though I'm trying to stop. Not cuz its bad for me but because its ruining one of the only things that I feel Im good at(singing). It just calms you're nerves when shit happens.
2. I didn't smoke it the right way the first time i did it. I kinda just sucked the smoke in my mouth without inhaling it or breathing it in. The first time I did it right, I had someone teaching me how to do it so I wouldn't get sick or anything. It actually felt pretty good the first time I did it right.
3. No. Cigars are fucking nasty and I think Micheal Kelso from "That 70's Show" had the perfect explanation for what its like to smoke them when he said "Its like smoking a gym sock." At least Im pretty sure it was him. If I'm wrong feel free to correct me/flame me for being so fucking retarded.

1. I feel pretty good about it. I smoke 'cause I wan't to, and have yet to get addicted. I like the taste, and it's plesant to take a break in the morning and just sit down at the porch, light one up and take it easy for five minutes plus. Alos, it's a pretty social habit.

2. Dunno. Got too drunk to remember. I do remember I kept breaking every damn cigarett someone put in my hands, but not how I felt about the smoking.

3. Jupp. Love cigarrs. Taste great and feels good. I also like the sense of smoking genuine workmanship. And since you don't get smog and shit in your lungs from cigarrs, I don't see why not to have one now and then. (Cause, and this might be quite obvious, the PH-level of nicotine in cigarrs are different from cigrettes. You don't inhale the smoke of a cigarr. You just take it in your mouth, taste it, blow it and take another puff. Got some pals who didn't know and got pretty sick.)

1. I used to smoke but decided to quit when I was tired of having no spending money and getting winded going up stairs.
2. I started to help me stay up late when writing papers so I'd imagine I felt less tired.
3. I'll smoke a cigar if offered one but I don't like it enough to spend money on one. I can see the appeal of the but it's just not for me.

I dunno, smokers who dont give a crap have a huge pole up there ass that gets shoved into other's lungs. I realize some smokers are regretful about it and want to quit, and I feel bad for them. Those who dont give a crap or feel opressed however, are pathetic in their murderious ways.

I gotta say, im pretty offended by the question "How can you live with yourselves?"

Why honestly, does everyone care so much about people smoking? Studies show that second hand smoke does not harm anyone, the only reason that people think so is because of smear campaigns against the tobacco industry.

That said, I'm only a party smoker. I'll do it occasionally but wont go out to buy cigarettes or anything. I just stinge off other people. Someone before me got it absolutely right; moderation is the answer.

Well the question was more like "How do you feel about having a dangerous habit for your body",as in if you sometimes fear lung cancer.

1. I enjoy smoking, only on three a day now so I don't consider it to be that bad a habit. Calms me down, makes me a bit less and stops me being hungry. Was my saviour when I was backpacking across Europe, could stay up as long as I needed and could eat less (plus they are cheap as dirt over there).

My girlfriend hates it, however, so I'm in the process of quitting (I don't smoke at all when I'm with her, but as she's in Peru for a month I've started up again).

2. First time I tried I felt amazing, got such a buzz as I was a little drunk. Though it took me a while before I'd actually buy rather than nick them off people.

3. Tried one, but you have to spend a lot to get decent taste otherwise it's pointless. So while I wouldn't buy any they are enjoyable.

like i said; moderation is the key. If you binge on ANYTHING it will kill you. I don't binge on cigarettes; therefore it wont be a health risk as such for me. I say as such, because its just like saying that every drink of alcohol will destroy my liver, which it will to an extent, but only from drinking excessively will it become something life threatening or harmful.

EDIT: Noticed i didnt actually answer your question :p It doesnt bother me that its coming into my body because of the aforementioned reasons

Ah yes, the concern of the 'second hand smoke' (which has been filtered of most toxins anyway) in the public space (i.e. outside) is duly noted. Now, how do you feel about car owners and their murderous ways? Not only do they kill, on average, more people than almost anything else. The smoke coming out of their exhausts is, dare I say it, about as lethal.

1.I live with myself fine. I only smoke between friends or with my tobacco pipe (Which is once a month). The only thing that bothers me about smoking is the 100 anti-smoker you meet everyday.

2.I coughed a little. My lungs weren't ready for it. Although, I got used to it pretty fast. Oh and that little buzz thing was great.

3.I only smoke cigars or my pipe. Cigarettes leave a bitter after-taste and everyone complains about the smell. There's a better taste with cigars. Although, it's an acquired taste. I won't deny there's somekind of image that comes with it. If you're going to smoke shit, might as well smoke quality shit. I hate when people think that all cigars have the same taste.

The only time you should smoke is during special occasions. Don't get addicted by smoking regularly.

I didnt know Malboro put out studies. People think second hand smoke causes damage because of the damage caused by second hand smoke. Also you have no right to be offended because you have a bad habit that harms others. If smoking did nto harm anyone but yourself, then fine, but it doesnt.

Well, I never had to sit in a room full of car exhaust for one, and certainly I am all for cleaning up its bad effects too. I am not kind to bad drivers though, and certainly I feel similar about people who drink who have a similar attitude as you that they are opressed or something. However smokers do not provide ANY positive service such as transportation, and certainly it would be easier to remove all smoking with positive effect than all cars. People would have more money to spend for one.

http://knol.google.com/k/second-hand-smoke#

While it's not exactly a credible source, it pretty much lays down all the fine points that are accurate. I'm in a rush to go out somewhere so I havent had time to go get all the sources i read initially, but the one that started my change in views was watching an episode of "Penn and Teller: Bullshit". I don't know if you're familiar with the show but it presents hard evidence against the second hand smoking studies. Penn and Teller abstain from smoking anyway and still present this stuff.

I'm not saying that smokings good for you, im just saying that people are overly concerned about something thats not harmful anyway (im refering to second hand smoke here of course) -- SMEAR CAMPAIGNS PEOPLE.

EDIT: if you want me to find the sources, PM me and when i get back from going out ill send them your way.

Second hand smoking makes me physically sick,I hold my breath alot on the street. That study is just another excuse for somebody out there to not quit smoking (maybe a parent with small kids)

If its the smell that makes you sick, thats because of the smell and not the actual harmful things. Otherwise it seems like the television has (to be blunt) brainwashed you into thinking that its going to p0wn you.
